  • SO FUCKING SAD. I love this movie, so much.

  • what....What's wrong with her?

  • @dll0990 Jackie is suffering from MS and can't get out of her chair to play the cello anymore--muscle weakness.

  • She is such a great actress, i could see this movie over and ovr and never get tired of it!!!! Love the music thouh....

  • cada vez que veo esta parte me pongo a llorar.

  • What is the name the song?

  • @zombie9ful Elgar concerto--1st movement.

  • omg this is a very hard scene

  • They should prescribe Jacqueline at the doctors and sell her CDs at the chemist.

  • this is so painful

  • one of the greatest performances of the 90s. watsons portrayal of du pré may not have been completely accurate, but she definitely created a very complex human portrait that was both fascinating and deeply moving to watch.

  • god.....what a scene.....it just makes me weep

  • Hilary once quoted that the worst part for Jackie being in a wheelchair was that she could never escape any situation. I love playing the cello, and I would be torn if I could never play it again for any reason.

  • hahaha por culera....

  • -(tears form in eyes)oh my god........(tears runs down)

This actually happened while I watched this.Such an amazing movie. :')

  • I love how most of the comments are about Jacqueline du Pré, not about the movie. This means that Emily Watson managed to transform herself totally for this role. I admire her acting.

  • I LOVE JAQUELINE DU PRE

  • This...This is the most sad thing in the world...A musician who cant play her enstrument....It's much more painfull if that enstrument is a cello...For me,cello is one of the most emotional enstrument in the world...i cant imagine myself in this situation...but she was in this....This is the worst thing for a musician...R.I.P Jacqueline...

  • Even do I loved the way she plays music with so much passion... I'm a big fan of her work... I simply can't stop listening to her interpretation of elgar cello concerto 1st mov its brilliant.

  • I think she didn't gain maturity because her parent didn't taught her about moral values since she was always involve in music. She behaves all the time like a little girl playing around. Maybe that's why its so amusing watch her videos.

  • This part is just terrific!! love the movie!

  • i wouldn't just say that, i'd say she was a genius woman who made too many incorrect choices and in the end realized this - ended up alone and destroyed...sad sad life..:( makes me cry.

  • i think she is a selfish person, of course she is such a genius and added much to music but i didn't like her as a person specially when she asks to sleep with her sister's husband, it seems to me a woman who has everything envy her sister who lives a simple and poor life

  • Omfg, this gets me every time... T_T

  • Wow... That was.... strong! Jacqueline Du Pre had a unique talent unmatched by anything on earth except her tragedy.. So hard to imagine how cruel destiny was to such a beauty..

Emily Watson: that was the best performance I have ever seen of an actress and if you didn't win the Oscar, then it is their mistake not yours

Simply this movie is extraordinary. a copy of it should be kept playing in the British museum for ever.

Rest in peace, Jacqueline and thanks for your inspiring music

  • this movie always make me cry!

  • me too, and i'm not the kind of person who cries easily

  • Such a sad part in the entire movie. I'd be like that too if I couldn't play my cello ever again.

  • The most inspiring musician ever to have lived and the most tragic story ever heard of.

Life is so cruel sometimes and I cry everytime i hear her play because her wonderful talent was cut so short.

R.I.P Jacqueline, you will never be forgotten.

  • :´(

  • what piece is playing? please

  • it's elgar cello concerto

  • cello concerto in e minor

  • asombrosa actuacion, conmovedora hasta los huesos,no me canso de admirir a la watson, una verdadera actriz, mis respetos para ella.

  • yes you are right...this scene is so intense....i could cry when i see it...and she is such a great actress.

  • The tragedy of this great musician in moving. Multiple Sclerosis effects so many people and we should not forget the greatness in all people that is affected by it. But, wow I love this piece by Elgar, and the story of Jacqueline brings it to the relms of passion and heart moving emotion. Do you think she was portrayed as a bit Borderline Personality or bipolar? In any case her life was riddled with circumstances that would test anyones resilience! love the movie

  • this is such an unforgettable scene! It's so amazing, the range of emotions she's able to translate onto the screen. I almost cry everytime I see this.

Thank you so much for sharing!
