I mean, we've had more deaths from suicide and friendly fire than by terrorist attacks. What I think troops are waiting to hear is "we're done. let's go home." i dont think soldiers want to hear that their lives are subject to the whims of the bush/cheney administration or that they are "winning" when it is so obvious that this fight is futile and making absolutely no progress.
