The original Japanese is about life, and was originally written for an animation before "Spirited Away" but that animation did not come into reality. The title "Always with Me" comes from an English translation of the original. Source: Nausicaa fan Web.
This English version shortened the song and turned it into a love song
Even from "Hayley Sings Japanese Songs", album 1, the voice is sweet, but could articulate the consonsants stronger, like what we have learned in singing classes in school.
I love this chick's voice, but she needs to learn how to pronounce words so you can understand them, instead of losing breath at the beginning or end or middle..
@KairuHakubi Mostly Hayley just has a awful habit of cutting off at the end of a phrase, whether she has breath or not. I think you're hearing that paired with how soft and delicate she's trying to sing. As for her pronunciation, I think that's just her New Zealand (Kiwi) accent... but yeah, there's room for improvement ;)
@FuryoftheSound Whoa, whoa. Slow down there. There's no reason to get all agressive. It's just a story.
And also, Chihiro falling in love with Haku is what happened. But it was innocent love, and Chihiro didn't understand it. But it's not because of that. Haku is a spirit. He doesn't belong in her world, and she doesn't belong in his.
There. Problem solved. No reason to bite someone's head off for making a comment, 'cause it looks really immature.
Such a beautiful voice for such a wonderful song. This is actually a song that I first heard on a Japanese anime called 'Spirited Away'. I love when one can translate, and translate well, a song so everyone can enjoy the meaning and feeling behind it. Hayley Westernra has a gift that can move mountains.
Absolutely lovely from Hayley. One of my fave singers performing one of my fave soundtrack music from one of my fave animated films - WOW!! Is this particular Hayley album only available in Japan?
@masquerro Hayley Sings Japanese Songs 1 and 2 were Japan-only releases. You can purchase them on amazon but the imports are a bit pricey! I prefer the first Japanese album with the black cover to the second. Both are great pop albums.
@Witch1993 - I took two years of Japanese in high school so I have a basic understanding- though far from fluent. I'm not sure how the English title came about but on the HSJS2 CD only the original Japanese title is used. I've only noticed "Many Times Always" used on Hayley fansites and I find it's meaning is closer to the Japanese meaning as connielove93 has pointed out.
I love Hayley Westenra before, now and then. She has the what we call angelic voice. First time i heard her in pure, she captured my heart until now. I cannot wait to hear her more new songs. It's like a new chapter for me. Hayley Westenra forever...!!!
This isn't really my style of music, but she has such a God-given angelic voice. You can't help but just stop and listen once she sings that first note. So soothing. When she has children some day they won't have any trouble sleeping when she sings lullabies to them.
Such a marvelous job for Hayley. I find the notes hard to sing because of the length of each. I'm amazed Hayley can do it. Must agree that her rendition and the original (Spirited Away) are both great.

無学ゆえに言葉の壁で何言ってるのかわかんねえんだけどw
それでも素敵な歌声が聞こえてきて自然に涙がでました。
陳腐な言葉だけど、歌詞なんかわかんねえけど(いやもちろん日本語の歌詞は知ってる)
魂は聞こえてきた。ありがとう。感謝。
