As a Redskins fan, I was ambivalent about mortgaging all those high draft picks for RG3 up until a month ago when I checked out some game highlights on youtube. Granted they are highlights and not entire games but I was blown away by what I saw. His athletic ability is really just icing on the cake. He's got a great touch on the ball, sees the field really well, has a great work ethic and is a smart kid to boot. It's scarey giving up that much for him but I think he'll be an elite NFL QB.
@GTX1123 hell yea just think about it. even though we been havin a bad decade if you go back and count how many of those games were complete blowouts it wasnt very many. just look at last season, dallas 18-16,san fran 19-11,miami 20-9 c'mon man. even coulda beat new england with rex!now those heartbreakers we been losing have a chance to go our way. our defense keeps us in games, with even a slight increase in offense last year and we probably got a 10-6 or hell dare i say 11-5 record.

To be honest, it was a big trade, but it wasn't a HUGE trade. 2 firsts (not counting the SWAP) and a 2nd isn't too much. Besides most of the impact players come in the 2nd-4th rounds anyways. We have been desperate for a competent QB for too long to let RG3 pass us by, so we did what we had to do. Sometimes you gotta pay big to win big :)

We traded down all throughout last years draft bringing in a whole heap of young players & stayed away from any free agents. Skins are only giving up 3 picks over the next 3 years. Teams aren't just made up of 1st round draft picks. People that are hating are probably the ones that wanted him on their team. With RG3 or Luck the Skins are already better than they were last year.

Speaking from stats & ability of the current WR -- I believe Moss (after he came back from injury) & Stallworth + Gaffney did well enough to stay, the rest of them need to prove themselves. Yeah, but anything less than 4 total picks wouldn't have made sense, the Browns failed again. You're right they need more wide-outs for McCoy plus they need to let him play to his strengths. Browns should be able to lock up a couple vets with free agency & draft an offensive line.

He looks really fragile! Im not even hating I hope he has a great career and never gets hurt but he just looks very skinny and lanky. Imagine him taking a full force hit from NFL guys, he looks like he can be broken in half. Welcome to the skins!!!! To anybody saying that the skins are " offseason champs" that has been the case in the past, but hasn't been the case recently. We traded down all throughout last years draft bringing in a whole heap of young players & stayed away from any free agents. RG3 is just a ridiculously talented QB going to a team that has been a LAUGHING STOCK at the QB position for a long time! Definitely worth trading up for RG3! Hail 2 the Redskins!

Speaking from stats & ability of the current WR -- I believe Moss (after he came back from injury) & Stallworth + Gaffney did well enough to stay, the rest of them need to prove themselves. Armstrong isn't consistent enough in my opinion, the free market is filled with sure handed Wide-outs.. we'll see.

If anyone in here hating knew football you would understand how this trade is good for the Skins. 1. they intend to have winning records the next 3 years which would mean the rams are getting low 1st rd picks. 2. they only gave up 2 1's because they just swapped this years. 3. There is no guarantee that players they wouldve picked the next 3 years would even be good, how many times have we seen players drafted in the 1st round and they turn out to be ok at best

@threepeice i know this. im saying if the browns realized they never needed a QB, then they wouldnt need to trade to the rams. but they thought mccoy was a bust so they TRIED to trade to the rams. they kept making larger and larger deals with the rams , which caused us to make even larger deals with them. If browns realized mccoy just neede more WR, then we wouldnt have needed to make such a large deal.

He looks really fragile! Im not even hating I hope he has a great career and never gets hurt but he just looks very skinny and lanky. Imagine him taking a full force hit from NFL guys, he looks like he can be broken in half. That is the only thing I am worried about other than that he seems very intelligent, dedicated, etc. He is as athletic as Mike Vick but unlike young Vick it looks like he can already be a real passer.

@Alphonse92able It is essentially two 1st round picks, a 2nd. We swapped this years 1st rounder. Look at it in those terms and we traded the same amount the Giants did to get Eli Manning. Turned out well for them. Last 7 Super Bowl Champions have 1st Rd QBs(Eli, Rodgers, Peyton, Roethlesberger) winning for them, with the exception of Brees, who was the first pick in the 2nd Rd. Borderline 1st rounder. Also don't forget, we stockpiled picks from trading back in last years draft. Had some to spare
