  • american quality:)

  • Disconnect the airbags with the battery disconnect then jump the connecter terminals with a 2ohm 1 watt resister. reconnect the battery. This with make the computer think the bags are still hooked up and will not turn the airbag problem light on. I have done this to my cars and i tell the people that ride with me about it and if i resale the cars i will reconnect the airbags. The Airbag is a safety device that has been forced upon us that can and has killed when it malfunctions.

  • WOW.....just another issue with these ugly piece of shit Obama Mobiles.

  • GM (Government Motors) taking things one step further by providing protection nobody asked for. So instead of side curtain airbags they could be called "Just in case it seems like you may possibly roll over airbags" Good thing there is a video of this and evidence that GM fails to warranty what is obviously a vehicle defect.

  • chevy sucks....they should of warrantied the airbags.

  • If the side airbags activated properly the seat airbags should have done their job too!! That means this thing happened from the faulty system.

  • what can you expect is a GM

    GM cars=electrical nightmare

  • all them red necks, and no one has a knife..... wow

  • GM Quality

  • I don't like airbags bcuz they yell at you and punch you in the face and they are also racist

  • 1:32, a wild Snorlax appears

  • hey how to air bag perform if it go out?

  • Holy shit, look in the background a bike goes by at :44

Son of a bitch that's fast!

  • thats what you get for driving a chevy

  • GM Cars all the same too bad they contributed to Obamas campaign, other wise they'd be out of business

  • vai aprender antes de se meter

  • Silver Bumblebee FAIL!!!!

  • I dont get it Car companies now seem to maker performance cars and anticipate that you wont hot rod them? Same goes for the GT-R and that transmition launch controll BS.

  • Lol

  • bahahahahahhahahhaahhahahhahhahahahhahahah

    u gay

  • Doesn't insurance cover this?

  • hello this is on-star we have detected you have been in a crash are you okay... no bitch i was drifting

  • Would you buy a Camaro if you knew it would cost you $5000 to replace the side airbags if you did a doughnut?

Also airbag deployment is a big no-no, as far as vehicle history goes. This Camaro, without ever impacting anything if sold used, might as well have been crashed.

Imagine explaining to the potential buyer, "Yeah. the airbags went off, but it's never been wrecked."

Don't buy a Chevy until GM fixes this!

  • @alan1320x Or just get your shit flashed and turn off all the nanny devices.

  • actually they had a recall on certain camaros, and the side airbags is only 495$ (head curtain airbags), the sensors are still good, and the crash computer is still good (unless you actually crashed it) so $5000 gets you a whole knew crash protection system (sensors, computer, and airbags) for about 500-600$ you can replace the curtain airbags

  • haha, the car got the last laugh.

  • Hahaha piece of junk !

  • @elpasadoduele20 Better that an still be under warrenty than having you transmission fall out and being stuck with a 25 k bill (coff nissan)

  • wow some people really do fuckin hate, BUT HEY! if you got haters your doing something right.

  • LOL american quality :D

  • 1967-1972 Camaro > 2010+ Camaro

  • ''new american cars'' ugly materials fail responses..

  • more diffin than drifting, just cause a car is sideways does not mean it's a drift -.-

  • This was shot at a demo to promote "The Motor City Mayhem Tour" A new Michigan racing series. Find more at MCMTour.com

  • at least he knows his onstar works.

  • Man in gray t-shirt 2:05 He is pregnant?

  • @kudlaty920 Najbidniej z trojaczkami. :D

  • shit of a car...

  • WTF The camaro is supposed to be made for this shit...

  • no surprise - american cars always were far inferior to the japs and euros. Do yourselves a favour, stop embarrassing yourselves and stick to importing technology from Japan you self righteous yankee pricks.

  • @76Ricochet why is it that you guys are always mad! lol its like you know we are better than you and your trying to prove yourself. Stop bashing you bum!

  • @DavidEnvy and here is the very definition of self righteousness..... yankees are the most arrogant, ignorant, self absorbed, narrow minded people on the planet. The rest of the world knows it, yet has the decency to try and make you lost yanks aware of your massive pools of corruption and delusion, though due to your thousand year old traits, constructive criticsm is taken as "us being mad", and you just continue about your pathetic ways. Your' better' than us? That's a laugh and a half

  • @76Ricochet How was that constructive? Haahah Ohhh yeah keep on importing from Japan? You are all fat yankees.... yada yada :)

Most arrogant hmmm... is that a fact? Everyone has opinions on how we should go about fixing things. I admit things are not what they once were, but we will turn it around. Maybe we should stop all aid to other countries! Hows that for arrogant?

You forgot to call me a wanker.

  • nice dri....I mean...understeer

  • You should all either race a REAL racecar and not a street car intended for ummm "the street" or put all your minimum wage or daddys dollars in an education that would both pay insurance for all your future aches and pains aka a real job and teach you proper vocabulary so you can argue a point without using low class profanity. Small boys...small penis...small minds.

  • the engineers created an electronic system that could detect weak donuts and protect the driver from total embarrassment

  • disable the air bags before drifing? Is there a way?

  • That's what he gets for buying a camaro. I keep waiting to see some mullets.

  • I don't expect much from a GM product

  • And if this were a Toyota Ray LaHood would have already been on national TV telling people to stop driving their cars.

  • It's a GM product. I wouldn't expect much from it.

  • in private mode :P

  • wow wtf is the deal with that usless thing hes using to cut the airbag off, why not just get a knife? way to be fancy

  • WTF

  • This is not drifting, this i failing at donuts.

  • JUUUUUUNNNNKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rollover sensing/protection in a Camaro may be almost pointless, since this vehicle's propensity for rollover is almost non-existent. That said, rollovers and many types of side impacts can be notoriously difficult to detect in a timely manner, so systems need to be sensitive enough to pick up real-world rollover events, and hopefully not trigger in real-world driving. The question is whether this type of driving test should be used as no-fire event in the Camaro's rollover system calibration.

  • When an understeer started to be called drifting?

  • Chevy.....Nuff Said!

Drifting??? All I see is a Camaro understeering in circles.

  • So do you pay extra for that cool feature?

  • Yeah, I didn't see any drifting in this video. By the look of the maneuver he pulled when the airbag deployment happened, I'm not surprised it happened. There was some pretty high centripetal forces from rolling one way to the other so quickly.

  • That guy needs to work on his drifting skills some more. A lot more.

  • shit americans :D HAHAHA :D

  • Mustangs rules.

  • Wow that camaro is really good at understeering

  • What drifting?

  • just, take the airbags off and keep drifting or whatever you were doing...

  • BOOOOODY ROOOOOOLLLLLLLLL

  • Bumblebee just was telling you that you suck at it!

    ha ha ha!!!!!

  • This is among thousands of other reasons I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF A CHRYSLER SUPERCHARGED 300C SRT8.

    watch?v=fj2qrQRjLTs

  • This is why American cars suck , they only work in straight line .... pathetic!!!

  • @bonesnatcher666 I guess the Corvette constantly winning the LeMans series is pathetic too, right?

  • @SupremesFORCE LeMans Corvette its a racing car ... not the piece of shit "muscle cars" that you can buy

  • @bonesnatcher666 LOL! Where do you think the race car was derived from? Stop living in the past and go drive some of America's finest cars on your local track.

  • @SupremesFORCE my friend, the only thing a racing corvette have in common with a street one its is shape ... and after 60 years i'm glad that corvette finally did a car that can actually take a corner, but i prefer all day long to drive a german or a japanese car .... especially on the track

  • @bonesnatcher666 European automobiles are fantastic on the track, but I can't let you put down the Corvette and Boss Mustang. I've driven the Corvette on Laguna Seca (and did quite well) and from what I hear, the new Mustangs are doing exceptionally well too. You can't knock what you haven't tried, sir.

  • @bonesnatcher666 Have you raced a new Vette? Have you raced a new Mustang? Youre another ASSHOLE repeating the same shit over and over without the least bit of experience with the vehicle you are trying to put down.

  • @chaman3872 i didn't "race" the new Vette, but I RACE the Porsche GT3 RS, the BMW M3 , Subaru STI 2011 and the Mitsubishi EVO X, you mouthy little prick, and the Vette will need another 60 years to make a proper track car

  • @bonesnatcher666 If you didnt then shut the fuck up. You think you can impress people here with whatever you say you have driven?? As said before, no experience? Then shut up. The only PRICK here is you.

  • @chaman3872 go drink your milk kid and stick to the fucking nascar or drag racing and let the european or japanese cars to go on the track ... now go fuck yourself, I wasted enough time with you!

  • @bonesnatcher666 Really? Thats your argument? Weak. Next time think before typing ignorant bullshit. Learn to speak from experience ignorant asshole.

  • Karma for being shit at drifting

  • "Man im so embarrassed to drive a chevy! *poof* oh thats better! now no one can see me!"

  • Mustangs ALL DAY!!

  • Time to pull the fuses on the airbags before drifting. Knew a guy who pulled the abs fuse on his clubsport for better braking performance but this takes it to a new level

  • arn't muscle cars ment to deploy funbags, not airbags....

  • Everyone that's giving me crap for owning a mustang wanna race?

  • watch?v=L55f_CXybqE

  • Now we see why you can get the high performance SS at an affordable price. Proud owner of a Challenger R/T

  • an engineers judgement call is to assume a roll over will occure..

wallmart tire's on a slick road wouldn't happen.

sticky tire's on a rubbered up track, did happen.

there's no right call here, get sued for unintended deployment.

    get sued for non deployment.

engineers calibrated for what they beleive enough force would constitute a rool over.

  • @TheHsvHolden everyone listen to this guy - he's the foremost expert on when a rool over will occure

  • @TheHsvHolden I guess the engineer thought most people would buy these cars for getting groceries on Sundays. Good call GM.

  • @TheHsvHolden. HSV Holden? nuff said. This shit wouldnt happen with Japanese quality. GTFO and play with your American crud.

  • @TheHsvHolden Dude, there are rollover sensors for that kind of thing. These sensors shouldn't trip while doing tail slides, esp. in a car that can do them this easily. Reference BMW SUV crash tests. This is just another example of bad engineering from a pitiful American car company. There is another video on here of a new Mustang having the same issue. They want to be safe, but they use cheap sensors.

  • Pretty boring driving, but it'll be interesting to see where this airbag thing goes. I can imagine they're be times in the future where people are driving on a winding road and the airbags deploy, even if the person weren't driving "aggressively".

  • Should be covered under warranty?

  • the title is quite misleading. this is hardly what any person in the world considers drifting

  • ohhhhh chevrolet, a winding road will ruin your day - here comes the class action !

  • I dont know if I would call that drifting but funny as hell.. lol

  • this is the reason why american cars sucks, it even cant drift nicely. BMW rules

  • @crumbutt let me guess for a chevy fan.

  • I bet GM will say fuck off because they cut the bag too lol

  • Comment removed

  • Quality American product. Bit like that quality American financial system, health care, education, gun laws, homeless and ability to both justify and win wars.

I drove the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger a few weeks ago and all rubbish. Shocking fit and finish. Lazy performance and no refinement. At least Japan can get it right with the awesome GTR.

  • @adzmorris this is why GM sucks. dont say all american car companies suck you faggot because ford doesn't. and the GTR has problems of its own. USING LAUNCH CONTROL VOIDS THE WARRANTY LOL. the japs put something in a car and you can't even use it. also its ugly.

  • @supra6t9 they have corrected that problem after a year or two.

  • @supra6t9 Ooooooooo im a faggot!!! Ooooo im so frightened!!! On the current model Launch Control does not void the warranty, actually it is promoted by Nissan to use it. And it's ugly is it? Probably why it has one quite a few design awards. And yep the Ford GT, their flagship car, just awesome for reliability! (I do love the Focus RS so at least they got that right)

  • @adzmorris

Stock to stock, a Corvette ZR-1 can beat a GT-R. A Ford GT could hold its own against one, as would a Dodge Viper SRT-10. I drool over GT-R's, don't get me wrong. Especially when they're that one sexy gunmetal color. All I mean is, cars shouldn't be bashed just because of where they're from... Almost every carmaker has a truly amazing automobile under their belt.

  • @goshidiot I agree with you

  • @goshidiot Very true and totally agree. But the same can be said of the Aston Vantage, R8, 911S, Maserati, Lotus Evora etc etc. And the ZR-1, GT and SRT-10 (like the euro's) all cost approx (if not more than) twice the price of the GTR. For what the Americans (and the Lotus) cost, the fit and finish, overall everyday performance, reliability, fuel economy, everyday livability and technology should all be at least twice as good as the GTR yet they lack enormously in all these areas.

  • @adzmorris

Camaro, Mustang and challenger are all much cheaper than a GTR though

  • @tin701 Not here in Australia. They cost either the same or in most cases up to $40k more than a GTR and have no factory backing or servicing. Thing is the Camaro is based on our Monaro. The Monaro was built in 2001 but based on the Omega B platform from 1994. That makes the Camaro's underpinnings 17 years old vs the GTR which was build from the ground up to be a GTR not a modified family car. If the muscle cars were half the price, cool, but out here they make no sense.

  • @adzmorris I live in Australia and i own a Commodore, and yes i know all this about the camaro, but i still say the gtr is like 160,000, whereas importing a camaro would probs only be about 100,000. And also the new camaro is built off the VE commodore which was designed in 2006.

  • @tin701 Is the VE an all new platform but? And I looked into the Camaro import and it works out at approx $180k all up. And I drove the "Aussie delivered" Camaro and it was rubbish. All the power window controls, boot release, fuel filler release were still on the American side and the Suspension was like driving an AU Falcon and brake and throttle modulation were shocking. Fit and finish were that of a Kia too. The VE HSV's are excellent excellent cars but the Camaro ruined a great base.

  • This is why you should never buy shitty American cars.

  • ههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههههه

  • um..I have a GTO and it doesn't do this crap! I love my car....It encourages me to drive like this :)

  • The large, heavy domestic vehicle obviously got confused, here's a readout of the PCM/sensor chat back and forth...

*steering angle sensor* "Hey, computer, we need to turn!"

*Camaro PCM* /checks OnStar, GPS, "We're in a parking lot, we should be safe."

*throttle position sensor* "warp speed nao, bitches"

    *Ellis* /yells "roar, motherfucker!"

*steering angle sensor* "hey, uhh, guys, we're still turning. WTF?"

*collision sensor* "Camaros can't turn." /deploys side curtain blinders

  • GM Build quality at its finest.

  • Welcome to the OHS safety world. It's boring and shit and you aren't allowed to do anything :(

  • @Legotruck82 This has nothing do with "safety world". This is just the usual GM crap.

  • Just German Cars!!

  • That car is manufactured an Canada I believe. I know my GTO is made in Australia and I don't have that side curtain bs. The new Camaro is ugly imo.

  • @chilliwhiggerE The side airbags has nothing to do with the place of the assembly plan. This is an engineering fault. The computer received "rollover-like" datas from the sensors and deployed the airbags.

  • @gentle285 I stated that it is constructed in Canada because every other person was saying it was a USA pos. And it's still a hideous shoe box.

  • dat quality gm engineering!

  • Lmaoooooo leave it to Chevy to screw this up! Glad I own a Shelby GT500!

  • this is why i am a proud owner of a mustang, and for all you chevy guys think wisely think ford

  • recall

  • And this is why you don't drive an american car.

  • hahahahaha

  • american cars....:)))))

  • This is very dangerous especially during race...

  • build quality!

  • I dont really see the problem it didn't really change the visibility lol.

  • Americans.....they can't build decent cars...

  • Proud owner of a challenger, but still could happen to anyone i guess lol

  • american car = FAIL

  • @sniper2606 Idiot youtube commentary = FAIL! :p

  • kouzman=dumbass. Drifting is not agressive performance driving. Maybe you should do us all a favor and drift your car on a twisty mountain road. Preferably one without guardrails.

  • What I think is funny is that the safety equipment for a late model car activated (when it definitely should have) and there are people on here talking about how it's a POS Chevy. LOL "Gee wiz, I'm glad MY air bags don't go off!" You won't be able to say that when your steering wheel is half-way through your head or your body is under the flipped car. Camaro's aren't exactly designed for drifting. But you can turn air bags off. You obviously can't turn off stupidity.

  • thats one shitty cutting tool they have there.

  • First: There is no drifting. Who ever was in Driving, he cant drift. Second: I think - if i was the Camaro - i would have blown the drivers airbag in the steering wheel to get this d**b driver off my seat...

  • I'm not sure why people would be upset that the safety features of a modern vehicle actually worked as designed. I don't think GM ever intended for the average Camaro owner to drive their new car this agressively on city streets.

  • @pilotlicense

sure, it is totaly normal for an airbag to deploy spontaneously. Morover, this is the safe way.

Anyway, mocking an usa car is not very patriotic, so the best would be if gm would supress all these videos and keep the airbag issue in secret.

And now everybody start to talk about toyota gaspedals, thanks?

  • Chevy... hopefully this helps them buy a mustang next time

  • Oh yeah this definitely proves mustangs are better! ...dumbass. this doesn't prove anything. You know how many times these cars have been burnt to the ground by magazine testing? And this is the first documented one? Oh god they are all the same...not.

  • plastic car with good suspensions..what do you think is going to happen?

  • I cant believe you even think he has a lisc lol why are you replying to what is obviously a 12yo that couldnt afford a new camaro, let alone a 911 turbo.

  • POS American car. Typical.

  • @zagerman84 What do you drive, a toyota?

  • @GTShelby350 Definitely not. While Japanese cars are still crap, they are way better than American junk. 911 Turbo for me.

  • @zagerman84 Nice car, have you driven an american car as of lately? Ie: 5.0 Mustang or the SS Camaro?

Because they are a much better build quality than they were 5 years ago.

  • @GTShelby350 I've had a few weeks of seat time in a Camaro SS. It's decent, but I barely fit in it. I'm 6'3" and I had about an inch of headroom left. Huge car too, but terrible blind spot on it. It was definitely quick though. I really liked the V8 Silverado I had as a rental recently... except for the gas mileage.

  • @zagerman84 Irony is that you think that a Porsche 911 Turbo is built better than a Japanese or Chevy. LOL I can tell you first hand that's not only wrong, but asinine. Expensive doesn't mean built better. I'd put money on it that a 370z would out do a Porsche 911 in reliability any day. Porsches are just squashed bugs with super engineered suspension to make up for a terrible drivetrain layout. LOL I'll stick with my Corvette Z06.

  • @AaronWillis yeah...right.

  • @Fastcarsupersports Yeah right, what? I said a lot there, all which is true. Porsches are built like crap and require tuning ALL the time. Corvettes are built really well. Nissans are built really well as well. The 5th Gen Camaro in this video would likely outlast a Porsche 911 any day. Keep in mind Porsches are a HIGH maintenance car. I don't understand why people have the misconception that you pay more for more. Ferraris are crap too.

  • @AaronWillis LOL. Too funny. The 911 turbo would destroy your Z06 in every challenge possible. This is my 8th German car and I still haven't run into any major problems with any of them.

  • @zagerman84 Here's my challenge for your Porshce: See how long it goes without maintenance. LOL Leave it to a Porsche guy to backup a conversation with something off-topic... Nobody said anything about Porsche's performance. They're built like crap. This video and thread is about build quality, not performance. An AWD 997 will beat me 0-60, (yay!) but it will also beat me to highest cost, fastest empty tank, and quickest to fall apart. HAHA!!! But it's ok... My car requires skill to drive.

  • @AaronWillis It sounds like you know nothing about Porsches. Have you ever owned one? I'm not gonna go without servicing it. I don't do that with any car I own. Price is relative. You get what you pay for. Do you really think I care about gas mileage?

Your car requires skill to drive because it handles like complete crap. It goes fast in a straight line, that's about it. Come talk to me when you've put some seat time in a Porsche. They don't fall apart. Repairs are expensive on all German cars.

  • @zagerman84 HAAAAAHAHAHA!!! Funny thing is that I've worked at a Porsche shop for years! That's why I bought a Corvette. I know better. BTW, German cars are expensive because statistically they're ALL built like crap. Audi, Porsche, VW (all the same company) got a HORRIBLE reliability rating, just below Mercedes and BMW. A Porsche is a status symbol. You obviously know NOTHING about cars otherwise you wouldn't have said a Corvette (of all cars) are for straight lines... Douche. Get a clue.

  • @AaronWillis Thanks for taking my troll bait. DOUCHE.

But seriously... American cars do suck.

  • @zagerman84 Cool story bro.

  • @zagerman84 Oh! And one more thing, if you're going to talk crap about the Corvette's handling (especially compared to the Porsche), you should make sure it DIDN'T do better than the 997's lap time at NURBURGRING!!! The 997 was 5 seconds SLOWER than a same year Z06. You definitely DON'T get what you pay for with a Porsche. They make less power for the dollar and break more often. You definitely SHOULD keep maintaining your car. I can tell you first hand they get EXPENSIVE! LOL (Loving it)

  • Mustang all the way

  • hmmm... I remember hearing about the same thing happening to a driver in an HHR not too long ago.
