Very cool video. That four-bank continuous setup produces some gorgeously soft light, but I find the catchlights a little strange in some of the images.
holy nutz, what good insights, technique, glimpse into the actual workflow and much other tips packed all into 1 clip! fack buying any portrait photgraphy magz! so generous with the info! nice!
@hectortowerss yes, in order to keep the person skin, eyes, etc on continuos exposure, and also make the camera to measure the actual light not only the daylight
i check out his photos, and i don't the light reflection in their eye too.is in every photo... you can see like 4 irregular light tube reflection in every model eye. just comment on what i feel...
@ministerioiktus it does look a little different but you know what...who cares? Peter has become THE top headshot photographer in NYC and I'm happy to know call him a friend. His business is very very successful and Peter has never been completely 'professional' anyways; so what, who cares :) The truth is there are many ways to light people but the real talent is to get the expression out of your subjects. Full DVD coming soon shedding light on every detail so stay tuned
He is using Kinoflos, but you can see a flash going off too even though he says he doesn't like using strobes. Is that from the other cameras in the room, or is he actually using flash in addition to the kinoflos?
@uniquesista12 he is using strobes only for the background. He shoots at like 1/60th which is a pretty slow shutter for moving people. Peter just doesn't like the strobe flash into people's faces and distracting them; they hardly notice the flash behind them lighting up the background. Full DVD coming soon that explains everything you ever wanted to know about headshots
whats the music on background? does anyone knows?

hectortowerss 7 months ago
@hectortowerss yes he does. He says he likes this better "cause strobes interrupts my banter" and he prefers the way the light hits the face
