Anyone's whose still wondering what flanger pedal he is using in this video, it's an MXR Black Flanger, probably the new one, because the original old version has a power cord attached to the pedal, and in this video he uses a battery or a power supply. I'm sure he uses the MXR EVH flanger in other performances, but in this video, the flanger pedal is black, because if it was white, like the EVH MXR pedal, then when light comes on it, you would see only glare. In this video it's clearly black.

@waterpolo157 That Green phaser pedal Tom is using is an Empress Effects Phaser pedal, it was released less than 2 years ago, so I don't know if he really used that pedal during his tour, but i have that pedal and it retails for $350, but it does alot of stuff probably more stuff than you can handle. I bought mine used for $275.

it would be fantastic if tom uploaded a video explaining how they use all these effects when they play live. i mean...other than stomping on switches.....at the concerts we can hear the phasers, flangers, delays etc....changing in terms of rate...depth...etc. so it would be good to know how they do all this while concentrating on playing the guitar itself. i mean....so many effects to turn on and off all the time right? or does someone backstage do all this while the band play?

@afy300 they dont use pedals live. tom and david both have tc electronic g force. its all in one unit so they dont have think about it, everything is pre programmed. its a pretty smart set up if you ask me : )

@afy300 Live, Tom doesn't actually use stand alone pedals. He uses rack mounted effects (2 full racks I believe) where he hooks up a master pedal controller, which can turn these effects on and off. He would have tempos for the tremolo and delays effects already set for each song. Basically, it's rich man's gear. Haha

@afy300 all of their songs are played live to a click track, which is why you would hear samples and synths live without said things actually being there. that being said, since there is a click track..the tempo/bpm is already known..which is what a fair amount of tom's effects are..time-based. so all thats needed to do is preset the designated effect to a switch(stomp) and activate it during the particular part its used for without any hassles over adjusting time and rate of the effect
