hobby killing for a buzz, a thrill, an adventure is perverse and barbaric and a sign of serious mental health problems. Eating the meat after the kill does not justify this type of blood-thirsty entertainment.
I never shot a pheasant and it got away on me. In my short five years of hunting I had shot well over one-hundred pheasants so this so called "ex-pheasant" hunter just sucks.
To all you anti pheasant shooting personel or other anti shooters. The amount of time and effort provided to rear these birds by gamekeepers is incrediable, and for a start, if there were no pheasant shooting cindicates there would be near no pheasants around at all. Also the amount of food we feed these birds also feeds others species of animals which help them through the tough times in winter. Please think of the effort we put into the country side and let us have a little bit of it back.
he must live near some shit shots with really shit dogs if they carnt find a bird with its guts hanging out, and you moan about eating wildfowl but you'll go to asda and eat sum battry hen witch has never even seen a field.
This man killed and wounded pheasants for 40 yrs and is now trying to sanitize what he did!
And all you 'crusaders' and non-shooters here...how much were you really concerned about the pheasant's welfare before you read this nonsense? seriously, ask yourselves and be honest....how much had you all thought about a pheasant's welfare before this??
I rather think that none of you had, because you are all people who believe anything you are told!
I do not know where he is coming across all of these injured pheasants. Any person who is shooting will have the decency to send there dog out and get an injured pheasant, there is only a small proportion of pheasants which are left injured.
Then red herrings about eating pheasant I eat every pheasant I shoot or I give it to my Dutch neighbors who are delighted with it and eat it for their dinner. Just because he did not eat the pheasants he shot doesn't mean everyone does the same.
Congratulations to your former shooter who has the courage to tell us the truth about this very cruel pastime. So often we hear a pack of lies from the shooting and hunting fraternity. I am very disappointed with Rachael Alan who obviously has been sucked into this loathsome 'sport'. Shame on her for presenting herself as a wholesome mother when she kills for fun.
Its not just the pheasants who get it but any wildlife that gamekeepers perceive as a threat.
I agree entirely with this man. I worked as a Low Ground Beat Keeper, rearing up to 30,000 Pheasants a year & over the years, I've seen hundreds of injured Pheasants in the days following a shoot. In my opinion though, Pheasant Shooting is Not a sport, they are simply shot for fun & sadly, the way many of those involved treat their dogs is just deplorable. What I will say is, these birds do have a far better life than all of the animals we keep in intensive farming units today.

Nothing is wrong with hunting, as long as you kill whatever game you are hunting in a humane way i really see no problem with it at all.

"I enjoyed shooting as much as the next person in my day" Is he saying that because he's
against shooting Pheasants now we all should jump on his wagon?
Whether you like it or not, Pheasant shooting will be around as long as there are people willing to partake in it.
