  • @blakricanwitlocs oh we know.........oh how we know :)-

  • omg 98.7 kiss FM saturday night dance mix party

  • Thoroughbread Promo, Remember recording this off the radio when I was 8 years old-Bronx, NY. Very Magnetic!!!!!!!

  • This and "Raw Attiude " with Big Daddy Kane & Antoinette are the two DOPEST & LONGEST promos EVER. Both beats were so FUNKEEE

  • Can anybody tell me the sample this song used, i heard it in "GI Jane" and I was like YO!!! that's that TR808 sample but I never found out the name of it. Anybody???

  • Nevermind.....got it.....Three Dog Night - Mama Told Me (Not To Come)

  • This TR808 is a REMIX so can't tell the sample's, the original is better though.

  • my favorite promo ever

  • I GOT THIS ON TAPE!!! My home boy Mark Ford used to visit NYC in the summer and brought this back!!! We used bump it at John Jay HS in San Antonio TX.....In 1987.....Nobody had it!!!

  • I remember hearing this while on the Grehound coming abck to NY through the tunnel! I said, "huh?" I got home and asked my brother did he record it. Hewas like, "YUP!!"

  • Do you guys notice 50 cent doing those slick laughs and underhanded shots at his foes. Kinda like KRS-1 taking shots at the Juice crew.

  • Does anybody have a song called "God Made Me Funky' that D-Nice did around the same time as this. He used part of the lyrics in "Crumbs On The Table'. They came to Va and played it on the WRAP 850 before Scott La Rock died. I couldn't get a tape ready in time. I been looking for it ever since.

  • i think the song was called scott made me funky

  • Do you have a copy of that song?

  • this track was on bdp's demo 1986-1987 nothing new just just redropped it for red alert

  • Damn!! This brings back memories, yo big props for loading this Thanks YYEEEAAAAAA!!!!!!

  • 11:00 PM! 98.7 SAT NIGHTS!!

  • yo true headz know the tru battle was between the promos, 98.7 vs 107 WBLS mr. magic vs red alert, BDP vs Juice Crew, but Marley had the best freestyle show, Saturday Nite Live Juice Crew was wreckin, I think Scott la Rocks murder changed 98.7 flow in the battle but i dug them all, mad trouble moving that dial we was broke so i had 1 radio taping back and forth, dem was the dayz

  • I cannot find this ANYWHERE!!! I've been looking for like 18 years. LOL

  • only thing, if you recorded red, in the morning you had mad v.i.m. commercials and red cut "my adidas" for 40 minutes, haaaaaaaa. 88 NOW-RULE FOREVER

  • Don't forget the AFROS

  • Red Alert is one of the reasons you'll see grown ass men still bopping to hip hop. Even with all the DJs in NY Red was the man. Before Hot 97 you had Red Alert for 1 hour on Kiss - you had Chuck Chillout for 1 hour after Red. Mr. Magic and Marly Marl had 2 hours down the dial on WBLS. That was it. Unless you stayed up late at night for WHBI/WNWK from 2am-5am for the Awesome 2 with Speacial K and Teddy Ted. I almost fell off my chair when I found out KDay (LA) was 24 hours hip hop.

  • before Special k and Teddy Ted took over that time slot on WHBI Mr Magic ran it from 2-4am before going to WBLS

  • OMG I remember when Mr. Magic was on WHBI!!! I never knew what the call letters were, but I knew it was like at 106 or so and I had to hold the antennae up, with one arm facing East, a leg facing West... and Mr. Magic used the Fearless Four's "It's Magic" as his promo. Ahhh, those were the days. That's when hip-hop was still good shit. Now? Get me a vocoder, and let me make millions and win a Grammy. Nas is right. Hip Hop is dead.

  • Those were the day when rap music was raw...Mr Magic use to hold tape night on thurdays..I stayed up to record him...man you talk about being tired in school. wonder what happen to Mr Magic

  • I've notice you also listen to WHBI back in the day. Do you remember the other theme song Mr. Magic played using the music from the TV show S.W.A.T. I think Whodini rap on it

  • mama told me not to come LOL Classic promo right here

  • the best radio promo ever believe that suckers lol still fresh in 2008 and beyond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • maaaaaaaaaaaaan, i remember back in 87 when I used to chill recording Red Alert every saturdaynight... this is real hip hop..

  • where's the d nice album version

  • i like the album version too but this was the better one with scott la rock on it

  • do anybody know how to record this hot song from here on to a cd???

  • dam i miss the real hip hop!!!!!!!!!! this was the hostest promo on the radio back then

  • yeessssssssssssss i love hip hop

  • i remember this from 98.7 kiss fm.

  • damn i wanna have dis track !!!
