i cried a bit when i saw this i know spiderman is just fiction but 9/11 was not plus spiderman represents all of us and i am not even from new york i have never been there but in want to some day i really wish this never happened but so do all of us rest in peace to all who were killed in 9/11 and to all survivors and people who lost a friend a family member i say stay strong keep your head up and pray for only the best to happen in the future
Lets not over react to this being in a comic book. They used to have Hitler fighting Captain America, it's nothing new to incorporate events in Marvel Universe.
@TheSonicScrew Marvel actually confirmed this issue took place between #35 and #37. They confirmed it as in continuity. As it should be. You can't simply dismiss the catastrophic events and say it didn't happen in this universe. But I agree it is a tribute issue but one that takes place in the universe.
The whole point of making Doom cry was to show just how truly awful the event was. Oh and Doom may have tried to kill millions for what he figured was a good reason. There was no good reason behind what happened that day exactly ten years ago. In the Marvel Universe, Osama bin Laden probably was killed the next day.
@real213 Would you not take t more as he's a fictional character? not real? this was an ACTUAL event that happened, the writers trying to get their emotions across and connect with those effected by portraying how they felt through all the characters. Saying "oh that's stupid, Doom has killed millions more (ficitonal) people, why would he care" is idiotic. It's a tribute comic, not part of the fucking continuity.
@TheSonicScrew i cant criticize something just because its a tribute to 9/11? like i said in my comment i really like this issue, i just pointed out one thing that i felt was weird, they could have shown any villain crying and they chose doom out of all people, im sorry if i offended you, but im a nerd that cant stand when fictional characters don't act the way they are supposed to.
@real213 okay i apologie that came a cross as more angry than i meant. you seem okay, i was just getting annoyed with other people i've seen dismissing the issue and getting annoyed with it because doom cried, and i just think this issue shouldn't really be taken as being in continuity, more as simply a tribute issue. nothing to do with any events in the comics just a tribute to the people. sorry i lashed out at you, didn't mean to come across like that :P you do seem level-headed and cool
@real213 In the issues he kills to save billions. He believes it is the only way to stop senseless killing and war. Read Doomwar, it's completely in character for him to cry.
i was very young when this happened, i didn't understand it well but i remember two days after i saw a Disney movie and the fire alarm went off and i asked my dad " are the planes coming back."
With all the Bin Laden-related coverage on the local and national news stations, it was nice to see something within that theme that is passive but effective. It doesn't hit you the head, just aims for your heart.
i don't see why they made this comic post-9-11??? they already made several comics before 9-11 showing the ill-fated fallen towers... wake up guys... it truly is a mad world.
Its a great video, but it needs to be slowed down. We barely have time to see everything before the image changes. Let the viewer take in everything. Maybe get rid of the first 40 seconds of the video.
hey in retro spect i would have re-done this movie, but i made this in 2004. besides, i think i slowed it down enough without making it a boring Read-along, i slowed it just enough for the important parts. but ya maybe sometime ill re-do this. depends how much feedback i get. Thanks for watching :)
Dang it man, i cried the first time i saw this. I remember driving my dad driving me over the varrazano bridge to go to school before the planes hit, and i saw the towers for the last time, before all this shit....
That's really powerful. I'd like to pick that up sometime and own it for myself. That is one of the most touching things in the comic book world I've ever seen.
that was really touching. i loved it, but i have a question and i dont want to offend anyone but why is doctor doom crying. i thought a lot of his planes involved death and destruction.
Thanks i appreciate the positive comments, i didn't realize the video would do okay considering its got stretched on youtube, and the writing is a bit hard to read. but regardless :) thanks.

i like this issue and all but Dr Doom crying for the victims of 9/11? doom has tried to kill millions, but he cries for thousands? bad writing.
