  • For anyone else who can't be bothered watching all three minutes of this, the fly gets eaten at 2:37

  • "did i mention i'm a Vegetarian?? " I think you're a Faggot, But no, Not really.

  • when i was little i thought flies had instant transmission...

  • I went 2 home depot and got these years ago but I couldn't find them lately so I just ordered them online

  • @thehotwing95 lowes or home depot

  • I don't know why but when I saw the fly get trapped I tasted crab (the kind of cheap crab made from processed fish.)

I taste random stuff all the time, however...

  • Fatality..

  • insects are attracted to the fly traps by a pheromone the traps release

  • What store can you find Venus fly traps at I've been looking for weeks.

  • I love this plant so much! I have 5 of them, but they are so adorable that I am sure I will get more! <3

  • @CompelloElementum are u gonna use water for the venus fly trap

  • I love this plant so much! I have 5 of them, but they are so adorable that I am sure I will get more! <3

  • 2:36 owned.

  • i actually started to feel bad for the little guy, and then a fly flew past me in my house and then i started to want a venus flytrap

  • owned

  • OMG... It's audrey 2 from little shop of horrors come to life!

  • I think the fact of a vegetarian having a venus fly trap manifests in your secret desire to eat meat!

If there were subtitles then it would go like this:

FLY: you caaaan't get me you caaaan't get me hehehe

    (later)

FLY: you caaan't get me you caa... OH SHIT!

VENUS: Suck my dick stupid fly!

  • @marcusdangel While I wouldn't be at all surprised to find Walmart had sold you an unhealthy flytrap, the way you describe it also sounds like a flytrap that has gone into dormancy from not enough warmth and, secondarily, light. Next time you get a flytrap like that, try putting it in direct sunlight or putting it under a grow light and keep it well watered and see if it comes back. Also leaves that have hibernated will never close again. I don't know why, that confused me at first with mine. :)

  • FAY-ULLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

  • WOW

  • WOW

  • fast forward to 2:30 for the good stuff lol

  • is nice your new flytrap. I like the flytrap

  • "Oh! I wonder whats in here!"

    *nom nom nom*

    "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

  • dude that is a slow venus flytrap... u should heat it a little more and add more moisture. also put it in a greenhouse or smth

When it's on the perfect conditions it bites with a speed of 0.1seconds

  • how did he get them so large :x

  • Could have used editing, but the part catching the fly was action packed and exciting. :-)

  • why does the fly go near the trap does it have an aroma or sweet smelling saliva

  • @sorrowofdestiny2010 yes, an aroma that is..so...very...sweet... *puts head inside a venus flytrap and gets eaten*

  • is it grass that is growing on the dirt??

  • that was pretty cool

  • Suspense might have built if you had added music, but honestly, I was ready to turn it off by the end of the first minute. It's an okay video - it would have been great if it were half as long or if there were some music.

  • 1:27 & 2:40 , you're welcome.

  • that's a big ass fly, where do you live?? Africa?

  • Ever heard of editing software?

  • Humans are meant to be omnivores. Not herbivores*.

*Unless you just don't like the taste of any kind of meat (Fish, poultry, egg, beef, etc.).

  • no, thats not weird. i eat meat, but you wont see me kill a cow.

  • That's funny you said that in the description. I'm a Raw Fruitarian and almost cheered out loud when the thing got trapped! lol

  • @ClefDeDavid88 To me -not a vegetarian at all- it doesn't seem strange however that you enjoy the thrill of 'hunting instinct' in watching this perfectly natural scene: a predator catching its prey. I mean did you become vegetarian for your health and/or because of evil, unhealthy and abusing farming/slaughtering methods ? Or ,because you feel pity that animals have to die? I hope it's one of the first two reasons..

  • awesome

  • nice plant there. it looks quite big. (5+ years?) whoever you got it from knew what they where doing :) is it still alive today?

  • very beautiful venus fly trap ...i heard they grow very slow

  • @bxnycrampage not if grown properly

  • @MFWFW so what the proper way to grow them?

  • @bxnycrampage in full sun sitting in a bowl of water....

  • @MFWFW thanks 4 the info.....but the bowl always got to be in water? 24/7?

  • Whats that kinda grass you have between the plants? i have a flytap to, but mine isnt that red! and that gras looked kinda cool!

  • The colour of the traps vary a lot from red to green(usually genetically).

  • @infoseeker228 My flytraps turned red after being in the sun.

  • @MFWFW sunburn?

  • @TeamCamino you can make your plant red by putting it in full sun and the grass is moss

  • that is awsome!!!

  • awesome!! =D

    luckly I've got one! =P

  • lol wtf..

that fly was stupid to even crawl directly into its mouth or what ever that was...

those damn plants wouldnt even be able to live without retarded flies!

  • @JHNProduction

    well fly's need food

and a Venus flytrap has a liquid inside its mouth that makes the fly think there is food inside of it

so it goes to source. the mouth

  • @JHNProduction i cant beleive your actually surprised that a fly was stupid. Its a fly not steven hawkings

  • @JHNProduction LOL! YOUR the retard. the flies dont just waltz into the dam trap idiot. The plants are smart enough to use things to attract them in. They use nectar which is located mostly inside the mouth of the plant. Bugs have an extreme sense of smell and can pick this scent up from a good ways away. Theyre lured in to take a drink and snap. Its not as simple as DURRR LETS WALK IN HERE. think next time

  • @JHNProduction veus flytraps nee fies because normally its soil is low in nutritional value, and i think it has a scent where the flies are attracted

  • @JHNProduction they are attracted to a scent the flytrap gives off

  • @JHNProduction Acually, they don't eat the flies for food, they just digest their bodies for Nitrogen, they can already get nutrients from the soil, and if the area has a good source of nitrogen then the plant can go on living without any flies.

  • @JHNProduction

The fly was attracted by the leaf's nectar... and actually, flytraps would live fine without prey.

  • Can't water them with tap or drinking water. The minerals will kill them. Must use distilled or rain water. Mist spray the plants occasionally. Keep soil moist (brown) but not drenching (mold will develop). Water about once a week. Right now, the plants are out of dormancy. Perfect time for the kids to have fun!

  • Can you melt snow?

  • @ggin1 ummmm hi i use kirland signature premium drinking water will it kill it? i use it because my brother said it was distilled so i used it

  • for those who can't wait 2:29 is when magic begins to hapen, luv this plant and hope to get it in 2 days:D

  • @TheKasssu lol iwas going to write the same thing :P

  • BYE BYE FLY = (

  • put your dick in it and see if it hurts lol

  • it wont hurt

  • @salamander450 LMAO

  • is it expensive ?? and how can i take care if it ? is it like a normal plant ??

  • you can get them at wal-mart, and if you do find one there itshould have instructions.

  • i live in the middle east (jordan) wen dont have wal-mart !! damnnn, thanks anway

  • You can order a venus flytrap from the website Sarracenia north west. I dont know if they ship internationaly though.

  • @yazanarabiat you can get one from just about any nursery...

  • or Home Depot for about $4-5

  • The instructions that come with venus flytaps from places like wal mart are complete bull shit. I have a Venus flytrap care vid listed first on my page if you wanna check it out.

  • Bother to read some instructions on the net. just google "venus flytrap care", and 62,800 results just there.

  • wat water do u give them

  • fuck you. its not suspenseful, its boring.

  • Venus Flytrap = natural pest control.

  • In my opinion venus flytraps are actually lousy pest control. For every fly, slug, or ant they eat, their are a billion more. One plant I do feel will put a dent in the insect population are the sarracenia.

  • i know. people think a vft is actually going to do something about it. even though the bug has to stay on the leaf to t rigger it. my north american pitcher (the one i rescued, i have no idea how the other plants are) when a pitcher died, i cut it off and looked inside by cutting in half. what i founf was almost a full rooms population of gnats. i wonder what will happen to all of those ladybugs in the summer!

  • venus trappers creep me out

  • first scene

Fly: oh gosh, what does your life mean, PLANT?? All you do is sit there until you die.

    VFT:.......

    Fly: ......?

    VFT: -_-+ o_o+

    Second scene

Fly comes to tease her again

The VFT traps the fly in her JAWS OF DOOM

  • i have pitches flytrap

  • These plants are amazing. I've got 2 of them.

  • excellent soil condition

  • What happens to whatever it catches? Obviously they don't stay in there right?

  • it gets sucked empty so there wont be much left of it

  • Ohhhh okay.

  • Nice looking plant, mine is smaller. I nicknamed it The Lady's Death becasue it catches the lady bugs that fly into the house around this time of year.

  • Wow... fly traps generally cost like $5.

They tend to do well in warmer environments (but not under direct sunlight), and though rain water is best for them, tap water is okay as well (so long as you either pour it into a dish so that the soil can soak it up from bottom up, or pour it into the soil itself).

  • Wrong...Tap water is lethal for these plants. Only heavily distilled, de-ionized or rainwater will do for them

  • Tap water will work fine for carnivourous plants. But you need to flush them with water very often in order to prevent the build up of minerals.

  • haha fuck that little bitch got owned

  • 2:36 is where the fly gets eaten!!!

    love it!

  • HAHA that was cool...

  • HAHAH cool man! i wanna get one nice vid :D

  • pwnd

  • my venus fly trap diud nothing and died lol 50$ gone :{

  • you can get em at walmart for 10 and then let em grow...it's way cheaper

  • :O you can get them for $3-5

  • Oh wow you spent $50? I seen them at my convenience store for like...$5....

  • OMG i got one for £3.98 which is like $5 in america!

  • OWNED lmao

  • wicked:)

  • in home depot its 5 doallers XD.

  • yeah

  • OWNED

  • Dude, there is something call video editing.

  • WOW maybe next time you can edit the video. The good part starts at about 2:30 so cut everything else out. Btw i wan the 2 min 30 seconds of my life back that i wasted!

  • @junky2020 Thats why u can skip o.o

  • @junky2020 there is something called fast-forward

  • There's something called a retarded reply.

  • how much are these plants and wat do i have to feed them?

  • Dude, you have to know where to buy them>> If you do know they might be those small ones. Well mine cost 7 dollars for 1

and you can feed them any insect ..NO MEAT ;D did that help?

  • 2:38 awesome!

  • lmao

  • This video could have done in less than 30 seconds...

  • OMG SERIOUSLY THUMBS UP!

  • i had an awesome of of these but it died , i dunno why xD , btw great video

  • Can it trap a dead fly too? Oh maybe a fly that got a heart-attack in flight from seeing the flytrap and dropped dead into it!

  • I have one

  • lol you're all welcome...

  • Cool

  • om nom nom nom

  • il save you 2 minutes and 35seconds of your life. 2:35

  • Thank you sir thank you!!!

  • Thanks mate you are the hero of the day! XDXDXD

  • SAINT!! lmao

  • TYVM lol

  • thanks holy shit...

    I love you ! :)

  • @ninja6kid

    thank you :D

  • Lol thanks

  • @ninja6kid thx(:

  • @ninja6kid thanks

  • Feed me Seymour!

  • I'll get few of those plants so i'll rid off those fuckin flies in my house.

  • i wonder what vegetarians make of this lol

  • f-f-f-f-f-FAILURE xD the fly got owned

  • have u tried getting crickets and putting it in one of the mouths with feeding tongs?

  • aww poor bug

  • its just like jail :P

  • 1-0 to the VFT, lol

  • No, it's not weird if you're a vegetarian. The plant 'consumes' for necessity. People have alternative, compassionate options and therefore it's out of gluttony.

  • what was it in a incubator or sumin

  • i have a venus fly trap but when i feed it it doesnt open again how long do they take to re-open?

if i am doing something wrong please feel free to tell me via mail cheers

  • They take a while to open back up. The last time I fed my plant it took over two weeks to open up again. It takes a while for the enzymes to break down the insect.

  • So it's a slow, painful death for the insect? Hahaha!

  • well not that slow

most insects atre suffocated in around 6-8 hours

but yes it is long drawn out and painful

  • i have a venus fly trap, but how do i maintain it? most of them are getting dried and yes i do sprinkle with water twice a day. Does it really need to be fed or what...?

  • I had a small one for a while and a little note came with it saying I should catch and feed it flies once a while if it can't catch them on its own...

  • you need to keep the plant moist with distilled water...not tap water since it contains too many metals...u can also use rain water or buy distilled water from the store

  • oooh not to use tap water i see.... distilled water it is then. However, my Venus fly trap soil is getting eroded, what type of soil is good for it? and should i relocate its vase to a larger one or just within its own size? like the one in the video?

  • search how to care for a venus fly trap and theres a really good playist with a ton of usefull info

  • Venus flytraps like some humidity...they will dry out if the humidity is not right. It should be at or above at least 50% misting only helps somewhat....The soil needs to be at the right conditions as well..use rainwater and if you use tap water from the faucet let the water sit for two days so the chlorine can evaporate out of it.

The three points to growing carnivorous plants are water, humidity and lots of light...if you can keep those three things in place you will have healthy plants

  • Seriously dont expect them to open soon depending on the size of the insect / animal it can take anything from 1 week to 4 months

  • amazing really, i never saw or heard of this plant. i wouldn t find one in my country :-(

  • i jus bought 2 fly traps about 2 weeks ago, n it seems like 1 is doin better than the other. i got over excited 2 feed my trap n i musta used 2 big of a spider cuz it ended up dyin. does anyone know the reccomended sunlight per day? cuz ive been lookin at websites n sum say 4 hours of direct sunlight n sum say no derect sunlight.

  • OHHH!!YEAA!!!

  • I put my fly trap pou tin the garden today lol,to see if it caught anything mine has 6 leaves it was outside for 4 hours i just went back out ot check it 4 of the leaves are shut lol,so im leaving it outside in the garden now lol,i might get another one lol,and good video i saw it ok!

  • and i love it when you trap one and then you can see it trying to get out but it cant lol.

  • i have a venus fly trap it only has 5 large traps and lots of little ones but i can see about 3 sprouts growing into another 3 =] yey.

  • is it true u can get these at 99 cent store? if its true i'll buy like 20

  • depends which ones you get, small medium(red dragon) and my favourite the large ones Dionaea muscipula

  • yes it is... i bought mine there but only in a specific season

  • once the fly is trap, how does the plant eat it? because fly's don't rot.

  • it creates a suction tight seal and digestive juices eat away the insides and leave only the exoskeleton

  • not worth the wait.

you should post the time when the event happens. good video to fall asleep to.

  • hi

you vft owners should join the flytrapcare . com community. we can answer all your questions and help you care properly for your vft!! we also have a great section of other Carnivorous Plants.

  • Nice film. Like how nature works.

  • owned!! nice!!

  • He gets eaten at 2:38.

  • Fly: "Awright, sweet necta- OH SHIT!!!"

  • Sweet! Worth the wait

  • damn those are a hell load. where did u buy them i wanna buy some?

  • That was hilarious.

  • how does the bug
