Tanner looks like a complete liar,he continues to make excuses on why the bat was hott.I think Leggett from Clemson took the high road unlike Tanner and made a simple call to "clear the air".I have no idea how racism is a factor? After all Leggett is a "Yankee" and we know racism is a "Southern thing".I doubt it will be the last time bats will be checked in any game with South Carolina or Clemson involved.
How inspiring to see a leader of young men announce in a press conference (later posted on YouTube) that he likes to handle his disagreements in a "personal" way.
Do as I say. Not as I do.
Also, those questions about the heated bats clearly caught him by complete surprise. Why, he'd never heard anything about "heated bats!"
I understand why he would be upset with Lamb's remarks but on the bat issue, I just don't see what the problem is. Coach Leggett was apparently under the impression that South Carolina was not playing by the rules so he made a comment to the umpires, who's job is to enforce the rules. Where's the issue with that? Coach Tanner says that he would have appreciated Leggett handling the matter with him personally, but then after the game he airs his grievance with Leggett in the media. Hypocritical?
@mdatkin well... He wasn't instigating the bat conversation with the media, they were. They kept asking him and he answered them honestly. Leggett went to the officials and complained about the bat's that USC was using, implying that USC was cheating. He did so without confronting Tanner so he probably feels like Leggett went behind his back.
Here is all you need to know about Jack.
This is a quote from baseball America.
"Leggett dodged questions about whether or not warming bats was a legitimate practice."
He made the accusation, grandstanded , and tried to humiliate a kid.
When he was exposed for not knowing the rules of baseball he pretended it never happened.
He is a joke. And for anyone to defend is sad indeed.

Maybe Jack will protest the fact that Carolina uses gloves next year.
"Hey ump can his glove be leather?"
MoonPie317 11 months ago
there is no excuse needed.
THE BAT CAN BE HOT!!!!!!!!!
How is racism a factor?
Well you would have to ask Jack why the ONLY homer called out was the one hit by the black kid.
CHeck the bats , that's fine. I get it.
But check them for something legitimate. And then answer the questions.
He knew he didn't have a gripe. He just tried to humiliate that kid.
Period. Jack is just a sore loser. Emphasis on loser.
And not because of anything Carolina/clemson

A PR nightmare for Leggett and clempson.
He shows racism.
Targets players, individual players. That is as classless as it gets.
Besides the clemsux fans hate him too.
He is not a "big game" coach. He got his ear chewed off by clempson fans in the two losses this week.

There is NO hypocrisy in what Tanner did.
He asked what the issue was on Sunday, with Jack and the umps present.
Neither gave him an answer.
Jack owns this . He created it and we are not going to let him forget it in Columbia.
Ever.

yes clemson once again is south carolinas little bitch

Better look out.
Virginia is using Rawlings bats as well.

At least Tanner answered the question.
Leggett, grandstands a young athlete then pretends it never happened.
This entire episode is on the back of Leggett.

No he hadn't heard about heated bats.
Its not against the rules.
Jack Leggett is a racist P O S.
One word for you clempson folks and your heated bats.
OMAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITs clear Leggett is at best a cry baby.
He has carried that rep for years in the ACC. Just ask around.
Or at worst he is a racist.
MoonPie317 11 months ago
Leggett was NEVER under the impression that USC (God's gift to college baseball) was playing by anything other than the rules.
Tanner did the right thing by waiting until USC drug our baseballs across that clemson face AGAIN.
MoonPie317 11 months ago
yea it really helps to know what rule you are claiming someone is breaking.
That is just logic.
As far as Will Lamb. Just a reflection of the coach. Sorry excuse for a human.
Punk. No other way to call it.
Calling Jackie a cheater was completely uncalled for.
And given that there were 7 homers in the series and ONLY ONE hit by a black player, it is clear that Jack Leggett has some racist issues.
The coaches may be over it, the players may be over it.
But the fans are NOT. And wont be

@mdatkin You should know what the rules are if you are going to accuse someone of not playing by them.

Ray is not easily upset. The "shenanigans" pulled by Leggett and the clemson players obviously upset him. Rightfully so! Go Cocks!!!
