Grizabella's piece at the start fits perfectly because it's scary and haunting which gives you the perspective of the other cats instead of simply following one character through the whole show.

This Musical it's my life. I am just a kid, portuguese and i have houp that someday i will be in the cats! I am a good singer, and i know dancing very well. i havent understood why they changed the songs a bit. i mean, I LOVE 'mangojerry and rumpleteaser' in the old version but not in the new. why did they choose to make these changes? anybody can enlighten me please? cheers :)

@musicaltwin101 Rumpleteazer never sang, if you look in the credits there are 4 cats (Rumpleteazer, Mungojerrie, Jemima, Skimbleshanks) who had their parts sung by someone else and then they just lip synch to it.

@sty1nk0rean actually Rumpleteazer and Mungojerrie both sang their whole parts, but they couldn't get the giggling a shushing down in the beginning of the song so they dubbed that in. the girl who had Jemima had a thick accent and they wanted Skimble's accent to be more scottish.
