not a very good recruiter, but he was always good at shaping young men into good football players...... Although he had many shameful offenses, he was still a very good football coach, i will miss him, but i am happy that we have a great talent in turner gill coming in.
Mangino looked a lot thinner back then. He was only 300 pounds. Now he is pushing five bills. After his speech at the basketball game he cleaned out the concession stands. He isn't just a morbidly obese coach. He is a disgusting bully. No one will hire a 500 pound football coach. He will be lucky to get a Division 2 job.
You guys can't win shit! your football program isn't so great, and your basketball program, ya don't even think for a second your our equal in basketball after a elite eight.
wtf r u smokin? we only got 4 people on our deffense leaving and alexander is the only person on offense we still got a whole lot of young talent we will be a top 10 team to start the season next year the ku football program will go back to normal which is getting about 4 wins a year
Kansas will be better next year. The schedule gets easier and we have good talent we can develop. Turner Gill put together a great staff and has us heading in the right direction after a disappointing season. If you think Mizzou is going to own Kansas from here on out, you're dumber than I thought, and I thought you were pretty damn stupid.
his weight has nothing to do with his ability to coach or not. He beat Mizzloser 4 times in his 8 years and that is your real problem with him. Leave his weight out of it. Clearly he has to go after the allegations and season meltdown, but the only reason you are even commenting is that clearly it bothers you he has a BCS bowl win and your coach does not. Did you even care when Terry Allen was dismissed...BTW, Terry did go 3-2 against the tiggers.
Raefrules15--- Missouri beat kansas that year... An orange bowl obviously isnt all that hard to get. And he is a cheater, and way overweight... look at what matters
it's ironic that his last name is 'mangino' hahahah fat fuck

Good news, the great Kansas butter shortage is now over.
Now he and Charlie Weis can go belly flopping into their swimming pool filled with gravy.

he was probably depressed for coaching the gayhawks... do you blame him.

The worst thing about this video is the fact that Mangino has gained at least a 150 pounds since this video was made.
I not sure he could physically coach next year even without the problems.

I wonder if anyone there thought, probation, lack of institutional control, cheating on coaching tests, abusing players, 1-7....

He has earned that applause, 10 fold.

I don't know why people doubted him. He learned under Tressel, Snyder and Stoops. What better schooling could an aspiring coach ask for?
