retentive ham would criticize your hobby they're the ones that spend their life savings

on stupid fancy radios but refuse to buy new clothes , soap, and so on .

  • simon from knottingley ? i wonder

Simon i have also the ts480sat and i really love it.. Talking at 11 meter and listening to all the other bands is great fun..

  • It would be nice if the required CBers in the us to have licenses . They used to have them. Nice video on the Kenwood .

  • Nice Video Dude Awsome radio

     73.

  • nice one simon. nice radio

  • best 73 55 from 18ab01 (sv23kw)

  • Perhaps in the US it would make it illegal and void the warranty? But not in the UK. It is a very nice video demonstrating using this rig mobile.

  • When is the next DX super sunday? Good QSO & nice rig

  • 73's

  • hi ya matey...I'm slightly puzzled...your using 26TM001...were did you get the call sign????

  • do these radios cover all amatuer bands?

  • The TX mod is called Beyond Mars and can easily be found on google "TS480 beyond mars" You just have to take out one resistor to TX 1.7 to 30 and 49 to 54MhZ. This will invalidate your waranty and will no longer be a legal machine so I don't reccomend it.

  • You are talking complete rubbish. I bought my radio from Martin Lynch, They offer the full wide band TX mod for £17.50, this does not make your radio illegal. Furthermore the warranty is still valid by Kenwood as the mod was carried out by a authorised technician!!!

  • It's pretty obvious that if you use the TX`er to TX anywhere without a licence it's illegal and if you did the mod yourself you would invalidate the warranty... hardly worth mentioning but I thought you probably hadn't realised. May I introduce you to the wonders of licenced amateur radio? It's a really great way to TX legally and great fun to.

  • I am a HAM but I thought I would mention this to you sir. In other countries there is a license for CB the USA is the only country that does not license it's CBers

  • In fairness to Arctree he did state if the mod was done yourself it would invalidate the warranty and TX'ing on 27555 is illegal. Finally why do Martin Lynch charge £17.50 for full wide-band TX when the others offer it for free?

  • Everybody who is intrested in a International CB Super sunday (Worldwide... Please Contact me somehow with info about these super sundays or anything like this...

  • I did not know that you could transmit on 11 meters with the TS480. Did you have to modify the radio to do that?

  • well done darren its films like this that can only do are fantastic hobby more good ,i have spoken to more professional operaters on 11 meters than the ham bands, and why is it a waste on 11 meters !!this is one of the best bands when its open ,so all you hams who have come from 11 m stop knocking it ,double standards or what !!!!!! by the way i have me ticket as well and so do a lot of other operators who just happen to be hanging around on the triple 5 !!!! what u oh never!!!!!!!!

  • is that the Kenwood TS-480SAT or HX? great redio!

  • Very good radio U have there.

    My best 73s

  • what is the point of all this here, just to be able to make contact with other people through radio transmission? i can understand and appreciate the value of this.. i think, am i missing something here?

  • the point is its difficult and its a thrill to speak to other stations in europe with low powered transmissions

73 DE VO1GXG Matt in Newfoundland , Canada.

  • I cant believe you are using a TS2000 on 11M ... bit of a waste , Why dont you take the Ham Exam and use it to its full ability and also you would be legal .. Not knocking you at all , just my opinion . Nice Radio by the way .

73 DE M1EQN Darren in Lancashire

  • Hi Darren, the radio is a TS-480SAT. It would be a waste for just 11m but I enjoy all aspects of radio both as an SWL and also a G7 :) Regards Simon

  • @Transmission1UK ughhh, I wanted one of them so so bad .. 100W +ATU .. Still do come to think of it

  • He is Legal he is Licensed he gave his CB call and it doesnt sound like a made up CB Handle to me. USA does not license their CBers but other countries do

  • @kaitheruneninja yea the UK gave the CBers the foundation license they iz all radio hams now such a credit to the hobby........not

  • @number6z No they didn't they still have to pass a test and pass morse code unless they got rid of Code like the US. All Amateurs have to pass a test of some sort some countries are harder than others.

  • @darrenm1eqn im on 11 metres I love to be a gentleman on the radio to be honest I have no idea about been a ham id like to learn
