  • Helpful video, for sure...but of course, I @#$%ed up and popped the speaker connector off the mobo. Has anyone deduced a way to repair this short of getting a new mobo? I was reading in some other places that an epoxy might be help to resecure the connection for broken SATA plugs and wasn't sure if that might apply to this as well.

To be fair, I use headphones on this rig 95% of the time anyway, but it's a crappy, nagging feeling knowing that one thing is broken on there.

  • My g73jh laptop started shutting down due to overheating. This video worked Perfectly! Thanks! After taking it apart noticed big dust balls in each vent. Then I put arctic silver 5 on GPU and CPU and it is sitting at 55-65c on my GPU and it never shuts itself off. I attempted to unplug the two fan's power line from the MoBo but It didn't seem to budge. So just did the repair by removing the tape of the WiFi wires to give it more slack. Thanks again.

  • Take apart G74sx plz

  • Any thoughts on where to get the ribbon that connects the hard drive adapter to the motherboard? I cannot find one anywhere.

  • What do you mean fix the Best Buy asus?

  • Thank you so much!!!!! I just opened my G73JW because it was overheating! There was a big ball of dust inside the GPU cooler that only opening I could reach it! I was really scared to open it up then your video helped me and my bf to clean it all up! Thanks

  • Firstly awesome video! Thanks so much!

My gpu is overheating really badly so i wanna replace the cooling paste and clean all the dust out but im scared ill break something in this beast of a lappy...hopefully this vid will prevent me banging my head against the wall. respect.

  • @elude2 I wound up with two dead touchpads on Sony and Acer that I worked on, took completely apart and re-assembled, so, DO practice care, reconnecting cables! Gentle

  • To anyone thinking about doing this to clean the fans, please try a vacuum first. It's much easier and less dangerous than opening it up to clean the fans. Unfortunately the fans becoming dirty and overheating the unit is a bad problem with these laptops, hopefully they'll make access panels in the future.

  • If there is anyone wondering why the left rear exhaust port isnt working (i know i was) its because the left side isnt actually and exhaust... get a flashlight and take a look for yourself if you think im wrong, left side is definitely just for show as there is a large plastic piece covering it from the inside.

  • @MrThrowmidgets1 That should not be the case. The left Vent is your CPU cooler and the right vent is your GPU cooler. It might just be covered in dust.

  • @VanyaSoria the 560m is just a 460m clocked at a higher rate, it's not worth the upgrade, I turned up my fan speed and over clocked and BAM, u got a 560m, that and mine is custom so I got a 590m in mine.

  • Awesome tutorial, thanks! :) That thing would have been a bastard to disassemble without your vid!

  • Don't listen to this guy when he talks about the last piece and prying it up. Get needle nose pliers and pull up on the very top part that plugs into the beige part you will break it off. Poster is kind of a knob for not mentioning this and saying go under the corners. It will break your speakers.

  • @shad0w4life2

that is correct i am the noob but i am the noob that has never had to use needle nose pliers to take appart a laptop. Dont listen to me.

  • @BToTech1 I said KNOB, not noob. Aka forgetful/neglected to mention etc. So sorry for trying to prevent people from causing damage to their laptop like many that post in here and on the BTO forums etc. You blocked out the view of what you were doing on one of the most sensitive steps, saying go under the corners and pry up makes it sound like it slides on like usb/cpu fan connections on desktop motherboards. So sorry for trying to help people out.

  • @BToTech1 Hi, i have an Asus G74SX. Is it possible to take the space key out of the keyboard without breaking it and put it back on? my space key is making a VERY annoying squeak sound when i click it. Please reply. Thanks.

  • @BToTech1 121848 people have listened to you the rest is not that important .

BTW i am opening it again because the fan is so noisy and the power button is so hard to press .,.,

    so yeah Thank you

  • @BToTech1 I don't use them either, I pry parts with a fingernail and a flat blade precision screwdriver, you want one good Philips blade. Don't cut your nails!

  • @shad0w4life2 - i dunno dude - i upgraded my memory using this vid and zero issues everything came apart exactly as advertised. Its a great walk through of an expensive procedure. Its not a task one should undertake if one doesn't know how to work with delicate equipment.

  • @shad0w4life2 I had no issues with this video at all. You might have not followed it correctly or was careless in the process?

  • 8:36 ... and THERE's the CMOS battery...

    I need another approach.

The hard drive died. So we put in a new one and restored it (using a backup that was made a few months ago). It was sucessful, but now the BIOS is assuming that the new hard drive is the old hard drive (same name under boot options) and it wont boot the new hard drive; saying to "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key" Also apparently the drive wont fit in slot2. Help?

  • Does anybody know the actual full listed display part number (and manufacturer) ? All i have is HSD173PUW1-A by HannStar... But i don't know if that is the whole display or not.

I need to find a replacement for my fiance's laptop... She left the mouse on the keyboard and closed the lid... Long story short, our puppy decided the laptop was actually a trampoline... And the display was the spring : (

  • Hey my left fan is making a loud humming/vibrating noise I took a can of air and sprayed in the exhaust, which in fact caused the fan to make the sound.

  • Thanks very much as others have said! It helped me upgrade the memory in my G73.

  • Thank you very much.

This video manual is exactly what I had searching for.

You describe everything slow. Much better than a PDF manual with pictures.

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

  • hey i broke off the connection to the speakers, where the wires connect to the motherboard. you actually mentioned in the video to be careful with it because its fragile. well.... it is. can i fix this with a soldering gun? the whole piece broke clean off from the motherboard. if i cant do this myself, would a shop be able to? i hope i dont need to replace the motherboard just for that.

  • Hi all, I have messed -up big time. What is the small connector on 05:24? It came wit out for metal pin was connected to the motherboard. How can I fix it?

    Thank you

  • That's the first time I've ever seen double-sided tape used underneath a keyboard, one of the dumbest things Asus has ever done.

  • @VyperEye89 yeh so silly right? thats the one reason i kinda dont wanna operate on it..i mean after do we need new tape? silly Asus

  • 8:25 ouch!!! NoooooO!

  • Watched this video many times, but still broke off the audio connector under the keyboard! Can that be resoldered? Anyways, at least im rolling with 16gb of g skill

  • Damn, it must be pretty cool to have four hands.

  • Ok, I voided my fucking warranty opening it up, unplugged everything, retaped that thing on the bottom right cause it was loose, put everything back together. It works fine.... So I hope it was worth it

  • I hit my mouse on the bottom right where nothing is pretty hard, not that hard to cause it to really move AT ALL. screen froze and turned off. I have to shake my computer towards the bottom right for it to turn on. It is the same exact version as this... All I see is a small component there where my mouse hit. My screen is black when I turn it on. I have to shake it just right for it to boot just fine. Everything is when booted, cept graphics card sometimes disconnects.. So what is the problem..

  • youch! :/ do I need to do that to clean the fans? gpu is idling at 70Celsius....

  • wow.. thats way more complicated than I had hoped to upgrade the cpu

  • Where do i get a new graphics card for one of these? my laptop is a g73jh-rbbx05 And the ati Mobility radeon 5870 has started crashing with artifacts and GSOD it never did this before and i am going to try the Vbios flash you have in one of your forum posts, However if it is the case of a Burned GPU i would like to know where to get a replacement.

  • This video helped me get to the tricky 4th ram slot for an upgrade, thanks for the great video!

  • hi, I followed the tutorial and i ended messing with the smallest of the plugs under the keyboard. in my case it was welded to the board??? :( could you tell me what this plug is used for since I put the laptop back together and it seems to work. It looks like it was connected to the speakers. thanks in advance!

  • @ubergnou2 i think those were your speakers. i did the same thing, it still makes sound cause its using your subwoofer. its very muffled though and you should be able to hear difference.

  • so me and my dad are riding in the car with my asus g73 laptop on my lap and he thinks it would be funny to tickle my knee the laptop flies into the door. now when i turn it on the black parts of the screen are a staticky green and changes color when i apply pressure to the keyboard. pleeeeease help!

  • so what i was trying to see is that the fans draw air from both under the lap top and the top correct? my worry is living it on the bed running

  • right on. I was stumped when I changed out my CPU. Good job guys. If you are going to take your G73 for any reason this is the VID to watch.

  • good , this time you putted the camera lil bit up

  • Just redid the thermal compound on my GPU with no discernible side effects (other than lower temperatures). This video was a great help. Thanks!

  • I have a g73jw with the 460m video card and I really want to know which card from asus I can get to upgrade it due to bad performance I'm having with that 460m for raiding and playing games like Dues Ex without slowdowns during movie parts and other areas.

If anyone knows how let me know I don't feel like paying another 1900 just to play games I can get on a console or to increase my frames in WoW

  • @Telaros

You paid $1900 for your g73jw? Wow...

  • I ahve an 560M , can I replace the asus g73's 460 by my 560?? If not , do you know any other 17" mxm type laptop so I can modify its GPU by my 560M ???? ???

  • I love this laptop. However, my power jack is not receiving charge from my ac cord anymore. It started with occasional flickering of a battery icon and ac icon, but soon these started toggling very often until the battery ran dry. When I press down on the cord, the battery charges, but it takes quite a bit of pressure. I'm not under warranty, and hope to repair this some way ...

  • I'm sure everyones heard of the backlight key problem with this series. Has anyone posted a video on how to repair it, if you're sure its a hardware problem? Thanks in advance, Phil.

  • Comment removed

  • is it possible to upgrade the video card??? i have a 73jw as well 460m

  • I am at my end here, been doing some foruming bout my asus g73h . Mine's been suffering serious lag or freezing in-game ( 1-2 seconds) , its frap drops frm 60-lower than 10. Been updating graphz driver , windows, and sound but no avail. i sent it to the repair service but they detect no apparaent problem, ooo i think i hv a bit of freeze in while watching vdeo and while in browsing.

  • Comment removed

  • ouch you almost broke the keyboard lol :P

  • were is the intel cpu proseccer

  • Hmm... Does this void the warrantee if I do it myself to repaste it?

  • hey BTOtach, my laptop is over heating and shuts down. the mettle plate to the left of the cpu when looking from the easy access panel gets extreamly hot. is this this whats causing my pc to over heat? any sugestions would be great.

  • Thanks BTOTECH for the disassembly vid. I have a 73sw that when I press on the palmrest (near the screenprinted label) the screen flickers. Sometimes without pressure the screen will flicker (black). From what I may gather, there is a magnetic reed switch for the lid screen on/off (with the actual magnet in the lcd bezel). The pressure may be pushing on the reed switch. Could you confirm there is the lid switch on the right bottom corner of the unit before teardown. Cheer from Japan, FRANK

  • At 5:07 you mention a "brown latch that flips over". It's important to mention that it is not the brown part of the latch that opens, but the black part. I ended up breaking the brown piece, and now I'm having a hell of a time trying to fix it. The video was otherwise helpful.

  • I managed to fix the latch with a small drop of superglue, a needle and tweezers somehow.

  • Does anyone know if the mesh that lies on top of the speaker area is removable? Mine is getting some dirt/dust grained in it and I can't get it out....

  • GPU can be replaced with own hands?

  • Dissembling is good for repairing screen, keyboard, hard-drive,RAM ,processor soon.

  • Be really patience on this job cuz those're really got paid.

  • How much of the laptop do you have to disassemble (or how far through the video) in order to get to the last RAM slot that's not immediately accessible?

    Thanks

  • My backlit led has stopped working( i have put the pin properly) and i get green or red pixels on my screen after repasting the graphic card. please help.

  • @BToTech1 , I HAVE A QUICK QUESTION!!

is the gtx 580m graphics card compatible for asus g73sw? any response will be appreciated.

  • @mineisbiggerdanyours yes, I would like to know the answer to this question as well

  • my mousepad on g73sw is fukked up.. but asus should fix this!!

  • i need a video how to open an ASUS G74SX!! pleasee i need it.. thanks

  • Hi I dissassembled my laptop for a repair on the power port but after re-assembly the backlight for the keyboard stopped working, The flex cable is connected properly and doesnt seem to have any breakage or tearing could you give me some advice pls. Its a G73sw

  • @drakulux gold pins visible on the cable when you slide it in?

  • @ 5:25 i screwed up and the piece got ripped off from the motherboard, is it possible to solder it back on?

  • Lol he has 3 hands :)

  • How many screws need to be taken out to get to the one hidden ram slot under the keyboard?

  • The chipset is not soldered to the motherboard in this laptop. The reason you cannot change this a lot of the time is the BIOS/Voltage/Same form factor. The card is always interchangeable with the same card so it nice in case your card does go out, you don't have to get a new keyboard. Also, if you check the price and availablity of MXM cards its not really a viable option.

  • Can you change the graphics card in any of the models of the G73? Can anyone answer this, please?

  • @DeadpoolDeadcool Not really. The vBIOS are specifically coded for the GPU, and it's unlikely it will fit the thermal fans.

  • @DeadpoolDeadcool No you can't replace the GPU in any Asus model because they are custom designed for those specific models

  • I already own a G73JW, but I want to thank you guys for making these videos. I plan on upgrading the screen to the assembly included with the 3DE version (including the internal emitter) in the near future, would it be possible to order the screen assembly (or the discrete parts) from you guys or do you guys know of a vendor I can order the parts from so I can do the 3DE conversion?

  • Wow..hmm, I am almost positive I will stick this thing in a mini-fridge to keep it cool before I try taking this apart! Not with my big ole hands heh. Good luck to you folks who try.

  • For cleaning the fans read the following I found here in the comments.

"@itsmeadrian1234 take a can of compressed air and point it into the exhaust vents. make sure the laptop is off BToTech1 6 months ago" Also thumb this up so everybody knows PLEASE!!! Thanks!

  • @Lootraevefan Hey just a update everyone. I did do this and it worked just fine! Checked temp via Speccy, idle temp before cleaning was like 65C. After cleaning idle temps were 45-49C! Hope this helps.

Also I got a notebook cooler for my G73J but it doesn't seem to do anything. In fact it make it a bit warmer by about 1-3C. Did anybody else have this happen to them? I used the 19" Cooler Master Notepal U2 Notebook Cooler with Three fans.

  • @Lootraevefan Cooling pads don't help the G53/73J's because they draw their cooling air from the keyboard area rather than from under the laptop.

  • @Lootraevefan could vacuum-cleaner do the job too?

  • are all the screws the same

  • Very helpful video. mine was overheating and i needed to clean all the dust buildup out of it.

A word of CAUTION to those attempting this. Taking the keyboard off was by far the most nerve racking part of this. Be very careful.

The speaker cable connector ripped right off the mother board with very little pressure. i use headphones, so this is not a big deal.

be careful with the ribbon cables too. i had to tape two of them back after i broke the black connector. Still works great though

  • @tsmith2187 the video clearly warns you of this. atleast a few times?

  • @BToTech1 Yeah two warnings are enough. -_-

  • so, is there a way to do the full breakdown without damaging the keyboard?

  • I'm confused about how you would put the ribbon back on the keyboard when you're trying to reassemble it. would you like glue it or does it fit into a slot or something?

  • Thanks for posting! It's a great vid.

I had serious overheat on mine and the warranty had just run out. I wanted to repaste. Long story short it's running as good as new.

One catch: the speaker cable (at 5:30). The white box thingy disconnected completely from the motherboard. This happened after very modest pressure was applied to the piece which should come out. The plastic is brittle so be very careful people! Luckily I wear a headset when playing :->

  • Hey Btotech1, i have a question,

if i have to remove the cmo battery from this machine, where would it be located and the quickest way to get to it?

  • @Kendoism why do you have to do this?

  • My G73 was starting to overheat, especially when I was dual-boxing EVE Online, and it never did that before. Then suddenly it was locking up and/or shutting down unexpectedly. I found this video online, took apart my laptop, cleaned out the fans and everything else, and put it back together. The laptop runs like new now and the fans hardly work at all it stays so cool. The best is that I didn't have any parts left over! Oh, if you remove the kbd 10x slower, it won't deform.

  • it will never work again :D

  • Do you have to dissassemble the keyboard to upgrade the ram or is their a way to dissassemle the top without playing around with the keyboard?

  • @razorlight1100 The RAM's are under the back panel ;)

  • @Cucubau1018 I already did it, their is two slots of ram underneath the back panal and another two underneath the keyboard, which by the way is a real pain in the ass to remove. Anyways you can max it up to 16 gb

  • I have a G73JW-XA1 with about 10 dead pixels on the screen. I'm thinking about upgrading to the display from the G73JW-3DE. First, does Asus warrant against dead pixels in the first 6 months? Second, is this upgrade possible? Third, would I be able to get the 3D display to function in 3D mode?

  • @moose4computers I finally had the chance to call Asus tech support, and they're going to replace my screen under the warranty. Yay! However, my other question still stands: Is it possible to get the 3D functionality out of the display for the 3DE model?

  • hey man Awesome vid worked great!!! i effed up tho, i pulled the speaker connection right off the motherboard, what can i do if anything? i reattached it but the pins may have been bent if i bend them back would it possibly work?

  • I can't believe this! Why didn't they install factory memory in this hard to reach spot, and leave the EASY access panel memory slots open??!!! WTF?

I wish I would've known this, as I would've purchased something else.. Basically, now my laptop is un-upgradable.... and stuck with 8gb ram.

  • How do you access the fans for cleaning? I've had trouble figuring out how to do so as I believe they are not exhausting nearly as much hot air as they used to.

  • @powergannon Here is an easy way:

One: Go to best buy and "Dust Off" (its a can of compressed Gas used to get dust outta things)

Two: Go to your laptop, open up the panel on the underside of it

three: turn your laptop it so the fans are facing you (while still upside down)

four: Get the dust-off, put red-straw in nozzle, spray into fans

five: you should see dust coming out of the underside panel

six: Screw panel back on when done, then BAM you just cleaned you fans the easy way!

  • @ha10dud3 one: Go to best buy and BUY* "Dust Off".

  • man, so much work :\ I only need to get the power supply connector and re -solder it

  • I want to buy the SW version with full specifications. But i cannot customize the graphics card on the website.. is it possible to change the tx 460m ? I would pay lots of money for someone to do it.. but i dont know if it is worth buying if not...

  • I have the same question as Moose4computers: Can we swap out the stock screen of the G73JW A1 with the new 3D screens that come with 3D versions of G73JW? And have it work with the glasses? If yes who sells them?

  • My right fan started to make anoying noises since 2 days. I planned to clean it but... seeing this video... I am scared to death. :(

  • @Fanty1972 i had the same prob you have and waited months before doing anything about it. I followed this video and did everything in it. When I got to the end i had access to the fans to clean them (they looked like the lint trap from my dryer) then I greased the GPU AND CPU... It screams again (figuratively) is whisper quiet and super cool. Brand new computer.

  • omg! cO

I have noises in the right fan. I thought I open it and clean it... but seeing this video.... oh boy. I wont do this! NEVER! -.-

  • I almost cried watching this

  • awesome video....i have been having Freezing Problems...could memory upgrade could be doing this ? your thoughts please ....?

  • Poor KB

  • Thanks A LOT for the vid, helped me a lot here!

  • what type of connection is on the optical drive and what blu ray drive will fit? what would you recommend? any BDXL?

  • Well, I think I was not so "easy" with the last connector and ripped the sound speakers off the board (yeah, a major stupidity, I know). The sound still works with the headset, but the speakers' sound is gone :(

Do you have idea if is it possible to fix it by relinking it to the board?

    Thank you very much..

  • does this kind of disassembly will void my warranty?

  • @mryilmazemre are you serious? LOL

  • hey BTO i spilled on my keyboard, it works fine still but 10 percent of the keys dont work its still under warranty, but would cleaning the keys work or should i send it in?

  • Anyone know if the hard drive bays support oversized HDDs? I want to use a Scorpio Blue WD10TPVT, which is 13mil height. ASUS doesn't really list anything anywhere. :-/

  • @pillefaxe yes its supported , done by me . but this drive is very slow ! dont use it for massive processes .

  • @M7mdCC I know its slow, but its just for storage... I usually just buy the largest notebook drive when it comes out. I'm going to be using a SSD for system and programs.

  • Nice video.

But let's say I wanna remove the motherboard entirely to reach the CPU and change the thermal paste. How do I remove the motherboard? Because in the video he just switch the motherboard vertically. :(

    thx!

  • This is frightening. I will never open my laptop.

  • @greenprell yeah just at first

  • @greenprell

I know, I've opened up a desktop and put in components of all kinds in without worry or anxiety. But this? Jesus, it's a whole different ball game.

  • Thanks for this, would have been annoying to search for all these screws.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the screen on a non-3DE G73JW to a 3DE screen and have the 3D functionality available? Also, is the IR emitter for the shutter glasses sync signal built in to the display or is it through the external IR emitter pyramid that you get in the nVidia 3D kit separately?

  • I hope you have a chance to read this comment. I sent my G73JH in for repair and upon its return, I discovered that the web cam did not work. I went into devmgr and it was not detected, nor was it a "ghost" device. I think the webcam may not have gotten plugged back in. In your vid was the white cable to the right of the GPU fan the cable for the webcam?

  • I wish the RAM chips were pointed out, is there another video for that?

  • is it possible to change the hd 5870m to a hd 6970m or a gtx 485m ???

  • Sadly this video didn't show how to change the ram.

  • Is there a way to add the 2.1 Bluetooth Module + cable BT-253 fr ASUS g73jh part in lap top. I have the g73 jh from best buy. It didn't came with the bluetooth. Another question is there a way to up grade a USB 2.0 to 3.0. I would like to know if u can and how to get the part. Thanks

  • I made a stupid mistake during disassembly, even with your advice to be carefull with the fragile cable underneath the keyboard(that connects the speakers with the motherboard) I took it out completely from the motherboard.I want to know the exact name of the small component that was on the motherboard so i can find one and solder it onboard again.

  • Hi mate wonder if you have any idea what could be my problem, stripped down my G73J to put new thermal paste on CPU and put back together now no lights, no power nothing, have took apart again and rebuilt but still nothing. As a last resort would the stripping down of the Laptop void my warranty? As the only voiding sticker i found was on the GPU and i never removed that. Really hoping it's something simple and i have not knackered my lappy for good.

  • Maybe your laptop has been affected by electrostatic discharge.Did you take precautions?

  • @Sofokleousma

Yeah i did mate, sorted it now though, it was totally dead before not even a charging light, i noticed there was a reset hole on the underside of the laptop so i tried sticking a paperclip in there and still it did not work, when i stripped it down again i found there was something blocking the hole so i pressed the reset button on the board and held it down for about ten seconds and then when i clicked the power button it all came on :) Over the moon now :D

  • Is it hard to upgrade to Intel Centrino Utimate-N 6300?

  • Is it possible to swap the g73jw-a1 60hz screen for the g73jw-3de 120hz screen?

or will there be too many complications involved?

  • great video. Thx for sharing. ;-)

  • so if I wanted to clean my laptop's heatsink, I would have to go through all this trouble?! o.O I want to take apart my N82 to clean it, but I can't seem to find a tutorial video... perhaps you can make one??

  • Will this work with the ASUS G60JX?

  • Hi, are you going to have a follow up video of removing and replacing the LCD screen? Awesome video BTW.

  • Thanks for the video its a great guide, but I can't seem to get the keyboard to come up. I am wanting to repaste the gpu, is there a way to do this without taking out keyboard?

  • Hi guys.. If I would like to swap the screen, is there any other 1600x900 one with better black/angles than the current AOU/LG ones? (I know it's not a really answer but, since you fix and sell many others laptops... maybe you know something :X)

Btw, OUR g73 is going fine, great job you did with it :D

  • So I see that the 4th memory module seems to be upgradeable if you can get to it, does that mean the motherboard can support 16gb of memory? Also, I'm also considering doing a DVD drive swap using a standard OEM slim blu ray drive. Do you have any video's/pictures of the optical drive plate's disassembly? Is it even possible?

  • never thought a simple tape is used in this modern technology

  • nice video

  • is possible to change te video card/chip/whatever on the JW 3DE version?

please answer i see comments every day here

  • @caccaculomerdapipi you can not change the model of the vga

  • @BToTech1 are they not compatible or is it that asus will not give one to you?

  • @BToTech1

Hi, is 50 degrees a normal idle temp for the g73jh? Also, what are your thoughts on re-pasting? I don't wanna screw something up and I'll take your word for it

  • @BToTech1

Hi, I really like your work, keep it up! Also, two quick questions... is 50-55 degrees normal idle temps for the g73jh? and would the factory thermal paste last the whole lifetime of the laptop, thanks

  • @BToTech1 thanks but i mean if someday it burns the video chip is possible to repair the laptop or need to be changed the whole motherboard? thanks a lot, ive actualy bought the jw version, shall come soon

  • @BToTech1 Is there a way to add the 2.1 Bluetooth Module + cable BT-253 fr ASUS g73jh part in lap top. I have the g73 jh from best buy. It didn't came with the bluetooth. Another question is there a way to up grade a USB 2.0 to 3.0. I would like to know if u can and how to get the part. Thanks

  • @BToTech1 can you upgrade the processor?

  • @BToTech1 I'm an ITSS specialist.

Please, explain why I can't change the video card to NVIDIA, JUST LIKE the JW 3DE's?

    Any info may helps.

    thank you. ^_^

  • @gplaything The video chipset is soldered to the motherboard and isn't user serviceable. You can always upgrade the CPU, since that's a socketed part. ATI and nVidia are totally incompatible chipsets, so the only way to upgrade to nVidia is to replace the motherboard completely.

  • @moose4computers thank you. ^_^

  • That DVD optical drive popped out very easily, is it possible to change and put normal standard slim blu-ray burner or bluray combo drive to the optical drive port?

For example this one: Sony Optiarc bd-5730s??

  • @TrafficWB absolutely. 5730s fits in like a charm. so does uj240

  • Thank You very much for showing how to repair it if need be. That is all I wanted to see. It was not my pc so rip the shit out of it for all I care!! You were kind enough to take your time to post a video in the 1st place. Thanks again! :)
