i watched this film in 2008 at Marrakech international film festival

Not a bad movie, I liked the mentioning of the famous Goethe poem, the Erlkoenig, and the music of Beethoven in particular; else I have to complain that the war of Finish independence is depicted as some sort of Spanish Civil War, according to communist propaganda! With the communists as idealistic heroes and the conservatives as a mixture of misused folk and decadent leaders; both in Spain and Finland the matter was quite different; though the love story in it is somewhat dark romance...

@GreatGrumbledook Whats your problem about that? Finally a movie dares to show another point of view! By the way according to modern historical studies in this conflict the whites simply were the most brutal ones!

There has never been a movie or a book written in terms of mass entertainment which shows the detractors of the foul communist plague as heroic and just defenders of all that is right, true and good in this world! While the word White is here highly incorrect as their faction is called properly the Finish patriots who where fighting for the Finish independence and against the attempt to establish a despotic communist regime in their country.
