Can I make a humble suggestion?

Don't waste more than a few minutes of this film on things which Scientology has in common with other religions -- e.g. the ability to "wreck families" or "brainwash" -- these accusations are correct but it just comes across as noise because everyone is saying these things about religion.

What sets Scientology apart is a concrete number of things -- Fair Game (private invetigators and all), Operation Snow White, etc, etc, etc,

Scientology have tax exempt in some countries where Scientology is recognized as a religion. In others where it is recognized (by the government) as not a religion it has no tax exempt.

I don't think any religion should get tax exempt though, it's stupid IMO.

What IronLingersPlus didn't acknowledge was that this is no longer Church policy and has not been for decades. It changed long before there was a huge scandal. Additionally, his comment that the church hates people who don't conform to its "whims" is completely unfounded. It teaches to love even those who would be the most bitter enemies, and has no whims, as doctrine has not changed. Ever.

I know Scientology is just a huge scam and stealing money from their congregation is wrong,but I have a hard time separating their "evils" from other religions. I mean the Crusades were all about imposing Catholic beliefs upon the conquered through death and force. In my eyes they are both wrong. But I suppose the modern way of conquering people is through money. Just my opinion.

@Oneofthosefatguys I understand what you are saying but it's important to realize that although Catholicism did some horrible things in their past, there has been reform and these are things that they have turned from and are not participating in anymore. Scientology, however, is still doing these things to this very day. As for separating the "evil", think of it this way - "love the sinner, hate the sin". Recognize that it's the actions, not the people that deserve our disdain.
