You made the example of colonization, it only happens during Imperialism age: japan to Korea, British to Indians etc. Taiwan and China is an issue of territorial dispute, and as far as UN is concerned, Taiwan is apart of China, that doesn't mean Taiwan is not claiming its independence nonetheless.
-Feasibility comes down to what is something or someone going to do about it.
@j124life If Taiwan can win its own independence through negotiation, or through force, good for Taiwan, but China has the support of UN, has a stronger military and economy, and Taiwan once belonged to China, and was taken over by the socialists who lost the civil war, so theres really no room left for negotiation. And even though US said we will back Taiwan, US will only do so if we stop trading with China, and that will never happen, because US rather gain economic advantages than lose lives

The only way someone can do something about China, is if US lead an attack on China and over throw the government (which probably wont happen), or everyone in China rebelled against the Chinese government (which probably won't happen). So there is no point in debating, China is just gonna do what its gonna do regardless.
US is the world's hegemonic power, and it will remain that way unless someone challenges it. China wants Taiwan, Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia to be stabilized, And regardless of how much money China is giving any country for international recognition, no one is Challenging China for what China thinks belongs to it. Taiwan claim its independence from China with little support from UN, only US.

Almost 99.9% Taiwan people were from the mainland of China before 1895. And there was a Chinese government in Taiwan. Taiwan was tooken by Japan empire in1895. After WWII in 1945, Republic of China (first democracy of Asia) defeated Japan empire and took back Taiwan as Cairo Declaration states in 1943. And then, the PRC defeated ROC in 1949. ROC keeps only Taiwan now and lost his seat in UN because of the oppress from PRC. So, ROC now is not a country in UN. But, ROC is actually a country now.

This actually doesnt make sense but until China gets more developed as a whole and the government reforms to the Taiwan's level or Western level with more freedom, I don't want Taiwan to be part of the mainland

The original inhabitants of Taiwan are indeed somewhat indigenous. Although a lot of political refugees from China escaped to Taiwan following the Chinese Civil war after WWII. Making the majority of the inhabitants in Taiwan Chinese over a period of time. So saying that Taiwan is not a part of China is somewhat ambiguous. As they are mostly Chinese. They differ only politically.
The solution is not to argue, but to work together to improve relations and economic co-operation.

You made the example of colonization, it only happens during Imperialism age: japan to Korea, British to Indians etc. Taiwan and China is an issue of territorial dispute, and as far as UN is concerned, Taiwan is apart of China, that doesn't mean Taiwan is not claiming its independence nonetheless.
-Feasibility comes down to what is something or someone going to do about it.

And even though US said we will back Taiwan, US will only do so if we stop trading with China, and that will never happen, because US rather gain economic advantages than lose lives

US actually starts the war, but China is too weak to start any wars right now. Almost 99.9% Taiwan people were from the mainland of China before 1895. And there was a Chinese government in Taiwan. Taiwan was tooken by Japan empire in1895. After WWII in 1945, Republic of China (first democracy of Asia) defeated Japan empire and took back Taiwan as Cairo Declaration states in 1943. And then, the PRC defeated ROC in 1949. ROC keeps only Taiwan now and lost his seat in UN because of the oppress from PRC. So, ROC now is not a country in UN. But, ROC is actually a country now.

I identify myself as politically Taiwanese, but ethnically "Chinese" (actually Han). I actually think the funniest thing to ask a chinese person is "why do you think Taiwan should be a part of China?" and they answer "BECAUSE IT IS!" and then i ask "Why do you want Taiwan to be part of China? Answer: "BECAUSE IT IS!" Then I ask "Why do you insist on forcing 23 million people to surrender to your beliefs even when they don't want? And then they say "BECAUSE WE'RE BIGGER AND WE'LL BOMB YOU" You know what? We wouldn't tolerate that behavior in a playground, why tolerate it now?

FACTS:
The original inhabitants of Taiwan are indeed somewhat indigenous. Although a lot of political refugees from China escaped to Taiwan following the Chinese Civil war after WWII. Making the majority of the inhabitants in Taiwan Chinese over a period of time. So saying that Taiwan is not a part of China is somewhat ambiguous. As they are mostly Chinese. They differ only politically.
The solution is not to argue, but to work together to improve relations and economic co-operation.

@Melohalo actually you are wrong. the majority of taiwan inhabitants were han chinese for centuries prior to wwii. since 1700s, natives account only for a small percentage of the population; native intermarry with han chinese resulted in a large mixed population. what you discuss are chinese from "outside the province", who dont know minnan dialect used in fujian and taiwan; however they are not the only chinese in taiwan. fujianese are largely similar to taiwanese, i am one, i speak minnan too.

Both the Mainland and the Island of Taiwan are Chinese regardless of political ideology. I don't understand that that if Taiwan isn't Chinese, why would they claim they want to someday reclaim the Mainland. I think that Taiwan should be formally united with China in name. Keep the ROC system in order with the same respect to Hong Kong and Macau.

I have heard some absurd arguments living in China such as Korea is China. The last emperor of China was only the ruler of Manchuria. All Asian culture belongs to China because it can be traced back thousands of years ago. I've even heard intelligent Chinese people tell me in private that they would like to kill all Japanese, Korea, etc.

China loves to rewrite history and insert preposterous notions such as yourself. Taiwan is not China. Neither is Hong Kong. Xinjiang and Tibet DO NOT want to be part of China and aside from some language similarities, do not live as the rest of the mailand lives. Fact is fact. Deal with it.
