  • Great!... this is truly turboprop

  • That's fantastic.

  • ahhh...I wish you could make me one !!!

  • Nice! What thrust ? And it's weight ? Fuel Consumption ? Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • @tthhnnee hi the weight is about 4.5 pounds the thrust so far has been 18 pounds but i have had to re design the gear train with bigger gears because it was starting to strip them. i predict when its all working properly it will generate about 25 pounds of thrust as to fuel consumption it currently burns about half a litre in five minutes

at ten pounds of thrust which is enough to keep my 18 pound edge cruising or at least it will be if i ever finish it !!

  • how much did it cost to build ?

  • @Donatillo1961 probably around a couple of hundred pounds but thats because there has been alote of remakes and changes over the years.

if you were doing it from scratch with a known working design and you could source all the base metals fromthe scrap yard as i did then the main costs are the compressor that was about £50 and the bearings they are modified ceramic skate board bearings they were about £25 but you get 8 for that price plus the gears £25

  • awesome! That is one nice motor And scratch built ,congratulations .

  • That is a great project and works beautifully. But where is the air intake for the turbine?

  • @simplefact4u In the rear, it's a reverse flow turbine like the PT-6.

  • @klesmer hi no its not a reverse flow combustor and turbine like a pt-6 if you look at my other videos you will see its a standard axial turbine /nozel guide vane assy just with a very large turbine section compared to the compressor and very acut blade angles both for the turbine and nozel guide vane that helps to extract as much power as posible in one stage .

with my last turbine rotor i hade temps as low as 300 degees c withot any drive attached only down side is limited turbine speed.

  • @8040john Ok, where is the air inlet, I could'nt see very well on the video?

  • @klesmer hi if you check the short video i did for simplefact4u you will see how the air gets in
