I was told by a guy with a crazy beard "doctor" to get on this drug. I left that office with hope that my condition could be treated. Now I feel worse after doing research on this drug. This is why I have never looked into taking medication, side effects and withdrawals scare the hell out of me and I fear this drug would make things worse in the long run. I feel that the only way to help my condition is to try like hell to force myself to live a healthier lifestyle, eating better and exercise

you, americans are obsessed with conspiracy theory. I used Seroxat for 1 year because I suffered of depression. However, I quit my treatment without any side effects at all. I feel ok, and this medicine saved my life!
He's OK. Chlorpromazine is a dodgy chemical, even just a chip of it, was unhelpful for me, a non-schizophrenia user. Procyclidine is the anti-suicide chemical, kicks in in 20 minutes flat. Pramapexole Hydrochloride is for ex-Crack Cocaine users, it costs about 10p a tablet.
I took this for 18 months i stepped up to 20mg per day and i immediatly felt GRRRRREAT! it was like mild speed and "E" mixed. maybe this was a side effect which i enjoyed i had lots of energy and immediatly was madly cleaning , roller skating and swimming all my depression and social phobia/panic feelings dissapeared. after a while this calmed down but i used to get waves of euphoria. sometimes it made me sleepy though. i had no side effects comming off although i did step down dosage slowly
I take Seroxat for about 3 months now and I noticed the good effect sooner(the 1st week).Everytime I was so close to a panic attack,I felt a warm feeling on my skin that guelled it and stop it.From the side effects I had only insomnia sometimes, but lots of energy sometimes and dizziness(at the beginning only),very rarely-headaches,and a little puzzled character(means I feel like I just begun teenage). It's like starting life again and have to gain some personality again.
i suffer with agoraphobia and i was prescribed seroxat which side effects are terrible, trust me when isay this im a adult and it can get nasty so to give this to children is madness ,and should not be allowed
I was prescribed this drug after becoming severely depressed but the worst i have ever felt was when I started to come off this drug I ended up with severe panic disorder, agrophobia and suicidal thoughts my GP no longer prescribes this drug to anyone
Another quick thing...did anyone ever get tremors in the jaw from taking this stuff.....i only got that after taking this....i may be unique in that but i thought i would throw it out there :)
I have been taking Seroxat for about 7 months and when I went on it I started grinding my teeth. Now I think I have learned to stop myself, but I still sometimes bite my teeth together quite hard. I have also read in the side effects that you can get "unusual facial movements" I hope this helps.
Psychiatrists have intentionally murdered 65,242 innocent human beings just in United States alone, with their mind altering drugs. Psychiatrists need to be imprisoned for life and tortured to death.
@Normalacy It's difficult to describe. For me they we're kind of like very brief waves of nausea, or an electric shock sensation in my head. Not painful but a little strange and unsettling. The condition is properly known as SSRI discontinuation syndrome, and it is not exclusive to Seroxat/Paxil.
Would it not be the company who decided what to call Paroxitine in the UK? There is no need to call the British stupid, remember you speak the lingo we the english invented. I won't insult you for being American as I love America but I can tell you cour comment was rude insulting and uninformed.

I was pushed onto seroxat at 14, at that age I trusted the psychiatrist & doctors and had no way of researching back then. I was telling them the tablets where giving me bad psychological and physical side effects but they wouldn't listen or let me come of them making me realise they didn't actually care about me, I secretly took myself of them and my mental and physical health actually improved!.
Don't believe what the guy says about not having "reliable information" on which to tell the truth to the public about withdrawal. These people are murderers, and they knowingly kill people in the name of billions of dollars in profits. Damn liars!

i agree, helped me a lot! Why is it so popular? Because it helps people who need help. PEOPLE, if you've just broken a nail or had a bad day, get over it! This drug is for those of us who genuinely need it.
seroxat withdrawal can leave u not knowing which plannet you are on, who you are, who your family is. With emotions so powerful you didnt even remember what they are. It can make u not know yourself and thats after all the physical withdrawal.
That's exactly what it was like for me. Sounds like you understand very well how it feels. I'm sorry you had to go through it too. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I've been off it a year now. Only just starting to feel real. I hear it takes up to two years to go back to "normal"
All I gotta say is Paxil is the most effective antidepressant I have ever taken in my life and it makes sense that there will be adverse problems with it.
Well if it's ok for you then Spence I guess it don't really matter about the hundreds of thousands of people who have sufferered at the hands of it does it?
Think you are missing the point Spence, how long are you on paxil? Maybe you havent hit withdrawal yet? If not, youre in for one hell of a ride. Think Steven kings worst nightmare and youll get an idea for what your in for. All the best. :)
I dont want evidence, I believe that it had negative effects for many people. I believe it should be available for repeat prescriptions for those whom it worked for but not if you have not had it before in the light of research. I can see you feel very strongly about this subject but ther was no need for a personal attack just because you dont like my view.
I am sure citalopram/cypromil worked for many people but it made my life hell - however it is still available. All I am saying is people should have a choice, Only the negative comments about seroxat are available its important that there is a balanced argument out there.
Balanced? The manufacturers still claim it is safe - Is that balanced enough for you? certain Patient support groups (financed by Pharma)also claim it is safe. No conflict of interest there eh? If you want evidence email me
Seroxat changed my life when I first was diagnosed with depression 4 years ago(when I was 17), thanks to documentries like this I have been unable to recover this time around as all the anti depressants I have trialed have caused Mania,Blackouts and Insomnia.
My doctor is unable to prescribe me seroxat which worked within 4 weeks for me and i continued to take it for 6 months to a year and experienced a quality of life for 4 years which I now cannot boast!!!
Well bully for you Lady Marmalade. If it worked for you then it doesn't matter about the hundreds of thousands it hasn't worked for does it? Check out the facts on the numerous blogs out there, check out the online Paxil Petition (currently at 10,000 plus)
Seroxat made me agoraphobic when I stopped taking it - it did get rid of my panic-attacks/depression when I first took it - but it fucks you up when you stop. I've been agoraphobic now for 4 years - do NOT take this drug.
my friend stood on the railtracks waiting for a train to kill him when he took this crap, he cant get of it, its about money the goverment protect big business
The investigation is over, it took 4 years to complete. The MHRA didn't prosecute GSK, apparently there was a "loop-hole" in the law.

I know Seroxat has helped some people, but in my opinion, and experience the dangers far outweigh the benefits.
If your sister falls into one of these categories I recommend she tries to get her medication changed ASAP:
- is under 21
- has a history of self injury or felt like self harming prior to starting Seroxat
- is underweight
- felt suicidal prior to starting Seroxat
- or perhaps most importantly, does not feel the medication is helping her.

if one pill a day keeps someone happy ?
Someone with diabetic needs to take a pill every day also
I take 30 mg (paroxetine) and I will slow down very very slowly. To man people begin and stop taking it after 6 weeks.
The effect only works after 6 to 8 weeks.
If people don't feel anything they need to take higher dose and wait weeks for it to take effect.
I think building it off takes a long time. You must do it really slowly.
