It's more than a little ironic that this version of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA was directed by Joel Schumacher when that other BATMAN director, Tim Burton, would also have been a good choice. I enjoyed this movie, but thought it was a little too light-hearted and did not like the opening black-and-white prologue.
