This movie really confuses me. I mean the Henry with Mary is so different from the Henry with Anne.. how can a guy change so much all of sudden/ I know the king was a womanlizer in reality but this movie is really confusing..
@hungcat0123 Anne's family was pulling her strings. Henry said it best in the movie, which is a true statement "I have tore this country apart because of you!" Anne had Henry wrapped around her finger. The end result was England was changed forever.

Henry was adamant about providing a MALE heir to the throne, which explains why Henry became a womanizer, and why Anne was so important to him. Ironic that the strong heir Henry hoped to leave behind, ruled England for over 40 years. It wasn't the boy he wanted, it was the daughter he had with Anne, History would come to know her as Queen Elizabeth I of England.

She went as far as have Henry strike the daughter he had with Catherine of Aragorn out of succession for the throne. A right that was eventually restored to her near the end of Henry's life.
