  • I have understood this entire scene, I understand the importance of it. I am 13.

  • R has suffered a lot so he feels entitled to do whatever he wants - even entangling Jane in a polygamist marriage. He doesn't consider how she will feel about this if she knew. So he deceives her because he's selfish and possesive. However, he doesn't realize until later her strength of will and she will not cave in to him. Later on R realizes his wrongdoing in the case of Jane and God brings them together again.

  • I'm asking what Jane Eyre would do secure MY happiness: that doesn't sound very nice, does it? what about hers?

  • Love the last comment LOL!! True dat

  • Amazing how this scene is so innocent but sexually-charged at the same time. "Regenerate me with a vengeance." Translation: I'm gonna wreck that virgin cooter the first chance I get.

  • jane eyre, one of the best read of all time!

  • I love this. Haha Jane's ignorance of Mr. Rochester's hints and intentions. Love Jane Eyre :D

  • is it just me or does he seem pervy when he say "fresh and healthy without soil or taint" lol :)

  • This is a very beautiful scene. And to be honest, I didn't get it straight away in the cinema, now I get it. All these complicated words...

  • I have no idea what half of these big words mean, but I would have jumped him.

  • @iorixs I loved this post as much as I loved this clip! that idea is awesome! The Jane Austens of today are hard to find but I truly believe that that would be an awesome book.
