I believe the Gates case, is just a case of miscommucation and believe that Crowley did his job correctly, I believe this is not a case of racism, this has nothing to do with racism, but believe there is racial profiling, but in this case, there was not, it is overexaggerated, Crowley's intentions was not to racial profile, but to do his job correctly

how did he do his job correctly? he arrested a man on his own property. It is not illegal to mouth off to a police officer. The law for disorderly conduct states that a person must do something besides exercising sppech.

true, you can exercise free speech, ofcourse that it is amendment, but you don't the true facts, because in one fact he shows his ID and then another fact he refuses, so you don't really know whats true, and yeah its not illegal to mouth off to a police, but here is the thing, he is on his porch and he technically in public, so it really doesn't matter where you are, you can get arrested anywhere if you don't cooperate with police...and i agree with MorbidusMortis

Cops asked me to come out of my front door when they responded to my call that someone was trying to break in my house around midnight.

I wondered why they asked for that.

NOW I know it was standard procedure for them to do that.

This sure has been a teachable moment for me.

By the way, Not all break-ins are by burglars.

Murderers, rapists, kidnappers and abusive spouses break into homes, too.

Unfortunately there are many in the world that don't realize that....why? Not sure myself, I see nothing wrong the police officers did, I would find it very suspicious that a person would not show I.D in his own house at the scene of a possible break-in. That is of course believing the police report. Sorry to say but as soon as Gates started screaming out "racism" he lost me, and of course Obama jumped in to get his face on T.V infront of a racist story to make himself look like a hero.

Gates went to his kitchen to get his ID's. I'm assuming he doesn't walk around his house with his keys and wallet in his pockets. The officer followed uninvited. Gates asked for his name and badge number 3 times, but the officer refused. (This is in the report). Crowley should have given his name and gone back to the station. Instead, he called backup. When I was profiled "Officer John Doe" gave me fake ID so I wouldn't be able to complain. That's what the cops do to black men.

Technically you can get arrested anywhere...it doesn't matter where u are, here is the thing, i can walk in to your house and act like its mine, as a police officer you are going to take extra precautions to protect themselves and others around you, im sure if i was robbing you house appearing to act like its my house, i think you would want the police to act with authority and if the police let me get away, they wouldn't be doing there job...anyways the facts of him showing his ID is unclear

You failed to also add that the officer was attempting to get him outside to talk to him. He also didnt just go to get his ID, he went to the kitchen to make a call talking about this "racist officer" which by the way is FACT. You need to reread the police report as you purposefully leave out things that dont benefit your opinion. Finally I would have arrested this old racist the minute he made a threat to the officer...another thing you LEFT out.He wanted to be arrested so he could get TV time
