By legalizing Pot we could get away from the blackmarket of other drugs. Pot is considered a gateway drug due to having to go to the blackmarket to get it.Then your exposed to other harder drugs that you can buy. If pot was legal, It would cut out more kids being exposed to the harder drugs like Coc, Meth and herion. You could buy your pot at a store and not have to go to the meth makers house to get your smoke sack.This is working in other countries and could easily work here

They should legalize pot (i don't drink or use drug BTW). I cost money to bust people. Then to take care of the Dealers the Government should sell it cheaper than dealers would ever think. That way you save money because you not using it to busted people and keep them in jail. Then because its cheap pot then the government can make money which can lower taxes.

Some patients will experinece liver toxicity at lower doses than others. 10-15 gms can be hepatoxic and greater than 20 gm are potentially fatal. We usually don't recommend more than 3 gm a day.(Aspirin) no control on that drug.Sold over the counter.Smoke an Oz of weed.(munchies)Take 15 Aspirin.(overdose).Its not up to control.Its common sense.Pain Killers are Controled.Can buy on any corner!!!

You do realize that when you even mention legalizing it to those in power all they see is the present war on drugs like meth (which is a killer, period.) Okay, I see where you are headed with that line of thinking. I think it is very odd how some people think nothing of alcohol, simply because it's legal. About the gateway drug part - I just don't agree with that argument (you might not either). If anything, cigarettes & alcohol are usually the gateway drugs because most people try one of those before they ever try illegal drugs...
Anyhow, I think for those who want to legalize weed - it's important for them to be specific & let people know they don't want to legalize all drugs. Meth is so very different from marijuana & I suspect a lot more people would understand reasons for legalizing marijuana. I can't imagine the average person even considering legalizing meth anytime soon. It's too bad it's hard to have a debate about this w/o people inevitable feeling the need to compare weed to other drugs.
I think people should be able to put out there any reasons they feel the marijuana should be legalized & those arguments should be stand alone. That's my idealism speaking. In reality, I realize most people start thinking of how that relates to other drugs & the whole "war on drugs"... I just wish that weren't the case. It's easier to have a real debate when people keep it to a single drug. Otherwise, I find that it's hard to stick to the point one wants to get across.
Sure, and its a mature way to look at it, but how often do debates with politicians focus? And lets be real, politicians are the ones who stand in the way. I don't believe the conservative crowd even cares anymore. Many that are considered Conservatives now are people my age who grew up with pot. To experience the drug first hand is to realize its nothing to fear, unlike the others we've touched on.
The biggest hurdle right now would be to seperate it from the black market and the idea of it being "taboo". If it were legalized today, it would be a few years before it would be accepted by the mainstream simply because of the mindset that prevails. Corporations would still test job applicants for it, so people would still be "nursing" the fear of it.
For now, its still blackmarket, so by virtue its thrown in with meth and coke, etc. And sadly so, because those drugs are a real problem for the US. Meth kills in short order and is so addicting it makes heroin look almost friendly. Since most of the same guys who sell meth also sell pot, pot will have the rep that goes with it all, even though its really undeserved. I don't consider it a gateway drug myself, but many do.

By legalizing Pot we could get away from the blackmarket of other drugs. Pot is considered a gateway drug due to having to go to the blackmarket to get it.Then your exposed to other harder drugs that you can buy. If pot was legal, It would cut out more kids being exposed to the harder drugs like Coc, Meth and herion. You could buy your pot at a store and not have to go to the meth makers house to get your smoke sack.This is working in other countries and could easily work here

Kids will ALWAYS be exposed to harder drugs because the pushers need them to make money. I dont want some guy on a bus blowing a joint next to my kids.I spent 3 yrs of my live in Europe while in the service and in holland where pot is legal, there is such moral decay in the streets its pathetic.

They should legalize pot (i don't drink or use drug BTW). I cost money to bust people. Then to take care of the Dealers the Government should sell it cheaper than dealers would ever think. That way you save money because you not using it to busted people and keep them in jail. Then because its cheap pot then the government can make money which can lower taxes.

Some patients will experinece liver toxicity at lower doses than others. 10-15 gms can be hepatoxic and greater than 20 gm are potentially fatal. We usually don't recommend more than 3 gm a day.(Aspirin) no control on that drug.Sold over the counter.Smoke an Oz of weed.(munchies)Take 15 Aspirin.(overdose).Its not up to control.Its common sense.Pain Killers are Controled.Can buy on any corner!!!

You do realize that when you even mention legalizing it to those in power all they see is the present war on drugs like meth (which is a killer, period.) About the gateway drug part - I just don't agree with that argument (you might not either). If anything, cigarettes & alcohol are usually the gateway drugs because most people try one of those before they ever try illegal drugs...

Anyhow, I think for those who want to legalize weed - it's important for them to be specific & let people know they don't want to legalize all drugs. Meth is so very different from marijuana & I suspect a lot more people would understand reasons for legalizing marijuana. I can't imagine the average person even considering legalizing meth anytime soon. It's too bad it's hard to have a debate about this w/o people inevitable feeling the need to compare weed to other drugs.

I think people should be able to put out there any reasons they feel the marijuana should be legalized & those arguments should be stand alone. That's my idealism speaking. In reality, I realize most people start thinking of how that relates to other drugs & the whole "war on drugs"... I just wish that weren't the case. It's easier to have a real debate when people keep it to a single drug. Otherwise, I find that it's hard to stick to the point one wants to get across.

The biggest hurdle right now would be to seperate it from the black market and the idea of it being "taboo". If it were legalized today, it would be a few years before it would be accepted by the mainstream simply because of the mindset that prevails. Corporations would still test job applicants for it, so people would still be "nursing" the fear of it.

For now, its still blackmarket, so by virtue its thrown in with meth and coke, etc. And sadly so, because those drugs are a real problem for the US. Meth kills in short order and is so addicting it makes heroin look almost friendly. Since most of the same guys who sell meth also sell pot, pot will have the rep that goes with it all, even though its really undeserved. I don't consider it a gateway drug myself, but many do.

Meth and cocaine are usually of mixture of toxic shit. Obviously they won't do you good. Heroine is medicine. Plain and simple. It was developed as medicine and IS STILL used a medicine today. Methadone is heroin without the high. Also I love how you name the 'illegal' drugs like those are the ONLY kind of drugs. Medicinal drugs out number illegal drugs. Just because it is in a prescribed drug, doesn't mean that it is good. Just because heroin is used for medicinal purposes, doesn't mean you can get strung out on it all day every day-which is what people do-
