The 2003 Hulk was way bigger and more muscular than the 2008 Hulk, simply more powerfull, how ever, he himself looks like shit. Hulk 2008 looks and feels much more like the Hulk from the comics. I cant wait to see more of him in the Avengers movie in April.
Eric Bana was good because he showed the psychological/deteriorating sanity of the Hulk, and how his father played a part as well. Edward Norton was good too.
I STILL don't think our special effects are capable of producing an impressive looking hulk.....which makes me kinda bummed for Avengers but on the other hand i can't wait cuz 15 years from now it'll probably look amazing.....

I actually prefer the '03 take on the Hulk, and many of the effects shots. The Hulk's physique looks more natural, in that his muscles seem to more visibly go from relaxed to taut as he flexes and moves about. His skin seems to be much more natural looking, in that they haven't added a layer of sheen to over pronounce the muscular definition with specular highlights. It seems clear that the artistic direction for the second film was a bit of a knee jerk reaction to the first film.
I like both of them, the first has a better story and characters, the second has better action scenes and special effects. In the new movie Hulk's face is more menacing and scarier and his skin is darker.
03' hulk would rape 08' hulk and abomination together. think about it this way, 08' hulk is 9 feet tall, abomination is 11 feet tall, and 03' hulk is upwards of 15 feet tall, to put into perspective.

In Avengers, coming 2012, I wanna see a combination of the two versions.. the muscles and the physical size of the 03 Hulk, and the level of detail, dirt, sweat, visible veins from the 08 Hulk.. but remember the scene where Hulk rescues betty from the military in 08, when they stand face to face, he isn't that much bigger.. in Avengers I wanna see a HUGE Hulk!

I don't think it's a matter of who's stronger. To be honest, the 03 Hulk just doesn't look strong enough to do the things he does...so when he leaps miles and throws tanks, it just looks silly and unbelievable (not in a good way). 08 Hulk was weaker, but more proportionate to his size and form, and much more destructive and savage. It did more to suspend disbelief.

@scottyjay94 Well, you can't make a dead certain judgement on it...but there are various cinema styles found more in different cultures. For instance, Japanese movies are often quite eccentric and energetic. British movies are often more dry and subtle. It's not exactly racism, just that people may pick up cinematic styles from their own culture and society, and they don't always play well in other countries.

Hulk needs to grow when angrier like happens on comics. While the 2008 is very impressive it lacks height that impressive height. So I actually laughed when I saw Betty standing just 1 or 2 heads below Hulk.

03 makes the hulk look like superman, completely invincible. 08 offers a more realistic view. As it does with it's rendering system which included parallax mapping, something 03 did not, which gave it an almost cartoony appearance in comparison.

@523freak235 Probably because they wanted to keep the Hulk up-to-date with the Avengers film project, in which he has always been an important role. Although I think the low opinion of 03 was also a contributing factor.
New hulk was good but weaker, in thevideo you see 08 hulk struggle to pick up a jeep but in 03 hulk he picks up a tank with not so much effort, the only thing better in 08 is the features look more real but it is 5 years later

2008 looked Unrealistic same as Abomnation who looks like a Big Turd with Bones (No Offence to you Fanboys of 08) Next i loved Eric´s performence as Bruce Banner he totaly Pushed the Button on those Scence The 03 Hulk was good too some Flaws but i was glad the "Hulk Smash" didn´t got so aboused like in 08 (just Chessy uh-oh), Overall i liked the Abomnation idea from 08 but got screwed by this Giant Bone Turd and Hulk got pretty fucked up what was Ridicoulse that wasn´t a fight. 03 FTW.

i agree, hulk 03 looks miles better, the story's better, the actions better when there is action and its a better all round movie. i think it was very mis-understood. it wasn't meant to please little kids with "HULK SMASH" and cheesey good vs evil, i mean the abomination in inc hulk was so cheesey. HULK 03 was about his inner turmoil, his loneliness and what action sequences there were, they looked FANTASTIC. it was more believable and its up there with spiderman 2 and Ironman. HULK 03 is epic

jason7193 Yea I agree with u 100%....Seems lik most people liked the 2008 hulk better but I thought the 2003 hulk was wat the hulk should be strong and massive unlike the 03 one that looked more ripped but was smaller and strength was not even close to the 03 hulk...I mean 08 had hard time throwin the fork lift, and got a str8 up beat down from abomination. hulk 03 would of taken down abomination alot sooner....

I don't think it's a matter of who's stronger. To be honest, the 03 Hulk just doesn't look strong enough to do the things he does...so when he leaps miles and throws tanks, it just looks silly and unbelievable (not in a good way). 08 Hulk was weaker, but more proportionate to his size and form, and much more destructive and savage. It did more to suspend disbelief.
That's my two cents at least.

2008 looks like something from 1990 horror movie only with more advanced rendering... 2003 on the other hand looks like the authors (ILM) actually know something about muscles and body motion.

03 hulk was WAY to powerful. Seriously, why was he so fucking huge? It was a big disappointment for Stan Lee.
08 was better because it followed the story of the show and comic books. When I was watching it I went "Hey, that was in the show! I remember that :D"

@scottyjay94 Well, you can't make a dead certain judgement on it...but there are various cinema styles found more in different cultures. For instance, Japanese movies are often quite eccentric and energetic. British movies are often more dry and subtle. It's not exactly racism, just that people may pick up cinematic styles from their own culture and society, and they don't always play well in other countries.

@Shiantor yes i totally agree, different cultures do have different cinema styles, but in my opinion it all relies on the audience and who they think there reaching out to, for instance ... have you seen city of god? extremely good movie, although not in english but it feels as though it was made by an english director. i have to say though the grudge movies were scary with the japenese versions but when america attempted it . . omg haha what a total waste of production time?

Hulk needs to grow when angrier like happens on comics. While the 2008 is very impressive it lacks height that impressive height. So I actually laughed when I saw Betty standing just 1 or 2 heads below Hulk.

According to those who did the movie Hulk stands at about 9 feet. Sound pretty impressive to me - when you compare him to Blonsky he looks super tall XD

03 makes the hulk look like superman, completely invincible. 08 offers a more realistic view. As it does with it's rendering system which included parallax mapping, something 03 did not, which gave it an almost cartoony appearance in comparison.

@523freak235 Probably because they wanted to keep the Hulk up-to-date with the Avengers film project, in which he has always been an important role. Although I think the low opinion of 03 was also a contributing factor.

New hulk was good but weaker, in thevideo you see 08 hulk struggle to pick up a jeep but in 03 hulk he picks up a tank with not so much effort, the only thing better in 08 is the features look more real but it is 5 years later

03 Hulk would kick 08 Hulk's ass. 03's abilities actually matched his powers from the comics (super strength, speed and regen). 08 was too realistic, which isnt what the Hulk is XD
