my friend an i were at the mall across the street before the show in the toys 'r us playing with one of the jittery knobby balls that were popular at the time. this one in particular played "wipeout" when you turned it on. we watched it shaking around on the table and said, "that would be a good song for phish to cover" and laughed as the thought tickled our funny bones. we had no idea what we were in for.

true story, i swear. one of the many reasons i love this band.

the wipeout weekend at the ol' worchester centrum! you can catch this whole show on LIVE PHISH vol 6. i was at this show. one of my first. i was just a hippy kid at UMass back then, just getting into phish when it was about to end... so sad. the runaway jim, and the reba are total highlights. vultures was sick! and then obviously the EPIC wipeout>> chalkdust>> mirror in the bathroom>> chalkdust>> dog log>> chalkdust followed by sanity! i thought that i had lost MY mind trey!

Last great Phish show ever?!? 2/28/03,12/11/99 12/31/98,12/30/99 and 12/31/99 jaust to name a few. 11/27/98 was a great phish show, they played a few that topped it in their remaining years. I do love this show though. That second set is like a phish phantasy setlist. I was siting right behind the stage, with my brother, great great show and in no way am I hating on this show. Can't praise it enough, but really, better than Big Cypress? That shit was religious!In short, 11.27.98 is the shit!

This show is really hard to get a feel for if you weren't there- obviously the Live Phish CDs are great and capture much of the energy of that show- but that whole second set was magical. The boys were on that night- best set ever
