n00b, can't you differentiate Azure Kite with Tri-Edge? what you're asking is whether you could have Tri-Edge as a partner or not, and the answer is no, because you wouldn't have Ovan if you have Tri-Edge.

if you ask whether Azure Kite will be in the party or not, then it's a different case.

So far there is no CW cheat to allow that, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made one like that. There is a Ad Hoc mode known a "LINK PLAY" which you can play with your friends, I have yet to try that mode out yet, but I heard rumors on sites that you're able to play as whichever character you want to be. Also they do have Xth forms but they don't become available till around the half way point.

They're your partners only depending on what time line you do though. The only character you use through the entire game is Tokio.
