Search coup de belier in youtube , its use in campaign often in place to have electric pomp. In fact "coup de belier" means shock who go trough water when u cut with trap for example, u have then force wanted.

RjBlaauw, you're so candid, but you know, this contraption has a lot of art and science in it. Time-and-motion is a major key in most manufacturing and production. This little "toy" is a great demonstration of precision, calculation, use of material, cam shaft theory, gear ratio, motor speed and torque all in one. Not to mention the inclusion of gravitation and friction in most moving parts. One has to have a lot of knowledge, passion and creativity to come up with such a design. :o)
