Me and my friends are planning to make these for my cousins birthday (not halloween style but just normal cookie cutters) and i was wondering what gas mark to put them in?? Thanks a lot!! :D
@Funkydunkywoofyxxx These cookies need to be baked at 350 degrees (F) for about 10 minutes. Check them occasionally to make sure they don't get over-done.
Greetings from Serbia,i really enjoy the cooking, and thanx for a wonderful recipes you are sharing with us.The only problem is that we have different measurements like litres and kilograms and Celsius for temperature, but i convert it on the internet and it is fine.Do you have Christmas recipes posted??
@Anchie82 Hi! Thanks for your sweet comment! Yes, I have Christmas recipes. Just do a search in bettyskitchen using the word Christmas, and you will see cookies, fruit cake, salads, etc.
Betty, I have been looking for a recipe for a cookie recipe that my older sister and cousin used to make back in the 60's,, refrigerator cookies, and they rolled the dough out in a log form and after it chilled, cut off the cookies to bake, do you know of what I am talking about? They were not sugar cookies.
@fairiegirlga That could describe several types of cookies. I will be making cookies before Christmas; maybe I will happen to make the kind you are looking for!
@bettyskitchen Hi Betty, thanks for getting back with me, this is a old rescipe, and they used to make them all the time, I called my cousin and she said she tore her house apart trying to find this rescipe, they were so good, ( childhood memories ), and I have Gooled it and everything, like I emntioned in my earlier message, after the batter was mixed together, they would form the batter into a log like form and place in the fridge, then after it hard, they would slice and bake, yummy !
Thanks! My recipe for keeping young is to eat the right foods in small portions and to work out 4 times a week at the gym. I've done this all my adult life, and my weight has not varied more than 3 or 4 pounds in all that time.
Just when I thought old fashioned sugar cookies would hit the spot, you go and make CHOCOLATE cookies haha. They look wonderful and you grandson seemed to have a great time decorating them! Thanks for sharing =)
I actually like the chocolate ones better--and all you have to do is add cocoa to the sugar cookie mixture! Yes, Carter and I had a great time decorating them! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Thanks for putting in a word for me! It is hard to keep up daily recipes that meet the needs of different people and to get them edited, uploaded, and responded to! I am inspired and motivated by people like you! Thanks!
Interesting to know how to make those coloured frostings. Thank you! And even though we don't celebrate Halloween here in Australia, it's good to get ideas on how to make colourful biscuits (cookies for you US folks!)
wow betty, you are just too awesome! i practically look forward to your daily updates! it's soo fun watching you! im also going to try one of your recipes tomorrow, which is your porchop "some tricky way". i am sooo excited!
This is not just a diet channel (as you can see!). I do try to watch the fats and sugars in most recipes, and I make a lot of fat/sugar-free substitutions, as long as it does not affect the outcome of the food. And on holidays, I give the kids ( and big kids) a break! Thanks for your view!
What an adorable well mannered little pirate! Johnny Depp look out, he's upstaging your part! lol Looks like Carter has his own creative ideas, haha..cookies look yummy & the pirate looks so huggable! I've got a date tomorrow night with a little Buzz Light Year, haha..will be fun to watch my grandson trick o'treat! Now will have to make cookies with him! Thanks, Betty!
Today it's a pirate--who knows what he'll be tomorrow? I hope you have a great night trick-or-treating with your grandson! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Kind of a silly tip, but if you want to keep your chocolate cookies brown, you can dust the counter with cocoa instead of flour. Of course, this is a bit more costly, but especially for fancier cookies, it's a good tip.
Thanks, Jimmy! He is very cute, but he can be quite mischievous at times! Guess what! My upload tomorrow will not have anything to do with Halloween! Have a wonderful day/night!
Awww. What a polite child! There are honestly few kids like Carter now. Wonderful recipe.
