  • dood music please

  • @azzure33

Aside from the fact that this video has no music attached and there's no way to leave it on-line and add music to it (without further lowering the quality), I'd have *big* problems by adding some commercial music.

I'll end up, for my next origami videos, writing myself some background music.

Aside from that, I hope you liked the tutorials and the origami figure(s) you ended up making.

  • i personally did not like this video !!

  • @mdakamb204

It was made four years ago, hence, at least the resolution is quite low.

Was it that aspect, the one you didn't like?

What else? I'd like to know.

  • My paper is not turning into a diamond shape like yours is, I am using square paper though...

  • @CuteBeanzMePhysco101

My advice is to completely unfold what you've done to the beginning square of paper and then, by using the video, check each single step; I'm sure you will solve it!

    ^_^

  • Thanks, you've helped me a lot.

  • @CB774172

Thanks to you, for letting me know about it: it's very rewarding!

    :-)

  • Yeah that's great ^^ By the way thanks for this video coz I haven't seen this origami before.

  • @IiIiI0u

    You're so welcome!

I was like: "let's make everything clear, from the first step... even though it's such an easy base like preliminary one!"

    ^_^

  • If you want I can show you another way to finish it as both sides can be exactly the same (-^_^-)

  • @IiIiI0u

One of the great things of origami is just that the same result can be achieved with more than one different sequence of steps!

  • I like my papers broken it doesn't have te pre-folds. Haha. :D

  • @owls90210

    ^_^

  • thx

  • @amvaca

Thanks to you, for being so kind!

    :-)

  • @Fatusama

that thing is completely stupid and is a big lie JAJA

  • What's the dimensions for the paper size!!! God dammit.

  • @AliceeCullen11

Is there really need to rage like that... for a simple piece of paper?

Paper size should be 14 cm x 14 cm or something like that.

Hopily origami will help you calm down: usually it has that effect.

  • @danbergam Not when it's this hard. But thank you for the size ^-^ Sorry about that I was pissed because I'm tying to make a present for my mother's birthday and I tried four other things but they were too hard >.<

  • @AliceeCullen11

Haha, you're so true, difficult origami really can make us run out of patience and calmness!

You know what? I think, your intention and idea, that present for your mom, is just a great one: that's why I'm wishing you to be able to go through the whole process and to finish that present for her... I'm sure you'll succeed and will be proud of yourself... and your mom will, too!

Happy folding to you... and happy birthday to your mom!

    :-)

  • -_-

  • @hadeersamir

    Hmmm... yes?

  • thanks!

  • @HollyLovee97

Thanks *to you*, for so being so kind!

    :-D

  • paper size?

  • @bunybonbon

    Good question.

Usually an origami paper sheet is 15 x 15 cm... but I did draw/print/cut this one and I have the impression that I made it smaller than that...

Anyway, you can use whatever size you want, as long as it's a square!

    ^_^

  • if u no how to make an origomi crane just use the instructions for that until the square part and its exactly the same

  • @suriah100

Definitely, this preliminary base is what's needed to be done for first in order to make the traditional crane; then the crane base comes next... and finally the crane can be finished by following the right video!

You find them all in my channel and in my playlist "and origami for all"!

    ^_^

  • How can i do the origami who you say a number 1-10.And is appear a face

  • @cherrugropap

It's not easy to understand what you mean...

Maybe the video does not load? Because, after the face there are the instructions!

Press the pause button '| |' and wait for the video to completely load!

  • @danbergam who's that face

  • @alberlos

The man with the moustache and the hat?

    Well, that's me!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam so if that face is you..

    you changed!

  • @alberlos

Oh, well... everybody change, day after day!

    ;-)

  • cool videos, i learned alot but i constantly had trouble finding the lessons i wanted

i made an organized list of links to the lessons on my blog if anyone else is having the same problem....i posted a link on my youtube home page

  • @dsmitsmit

    ^_^

  • yes now i can do it

  • @ALLJAMDOM

    Great!

Thank you for letting me know!

    ^_^

  • @eletricskull

Thanks *to you*, because knowing to have been able to actually help you with my tutorial is a great and rewarding satisfaction to me!

About the subscription... well, I'm going to personally thank you on your channel!

    :-D

  • Thanks a bunch, i like how it wasn't too fast paced like other vids, i could actually work while watching! :)

  • @GeneralMilan

Exactly: the slowness of my tutorials is one of their features I mostly pay attention to!

Thank you for noticing and appreciating it!

    :-D

  • hiya New subscriber! You made everything that looked like ALOT so easy!! Thank you for sharing this! :3

  • @KellySeelall

It's my pleasure to thank you in return, for such an amount of entusiasm and rewarding words... because making it look easy is my purpose with these origami tutorials!

    :-D

Thank you as well for your subscription!

  • thnx this is so good thnx for the video

  • @XxAllYouurzxX

Many thanks to you for your kindness!

    :-D

  • @danbergam what size papaer do u use for this 6x6?

  • @whatuphowslife

Usually, I begin with a 14x14cm square... but you're free to use whatever size you want!

    ^_^

  • cool!

  • @reniveizi

    Thank you very much!

  • Arh, thank you very much, im gonna make this to my mom, to her birthday :)!

  • @chiyman

What a nice thought, what a nice thing, from you!

I'm sure your mom will love it... because you will have made it, with your will, with your skills... with your heart!

Thank you, for putting a smile on my face!

    :-)

  • Arh, thank you very much! Im gonna make this to my mom, to her birthday! ;)

  • ok wait! i messed up somehow T.T at the end mine looked more like a triangel then a diomand. I used a different size of paper but it was still a perfect square. So what did i do wrong T.T

  • @hisprincess1513

A triangle? So, have incidentally obtained a triangular base (it exists!)... but it isn't the square one shown in this video.

And... I can tell you what happened: you have collapsed your piece of paper by "joining inside" the halves of one of the axis of the beginning square (not the diagonals)!

For the preliminary base, you've to do the same kind of thing but using one of the diagonals!

Another hint: first understand and learn a step, only after apply it!

    Hope this helps!

  • >_< mine came out all sloppy T.T

  • Thanks!

  • @claire0rockz

No, *thanks to you* for being so kind and for letting me perceive your satisfaction!

    :-)

  • i like to watch your origami videos because it's like i'm getting to do it along with you. maybe one day i'll try it, but in the mean time it's a great escape from reality!

  • @efbeckley

    That's so kind from you.

I think too that origami is a quite relaxing and mind-cleaning (in a good way) form of art: because to concentrate on each single fold is necessary for to make it right!

I'm so glad for having a chance more, throught my videos, to give a little help... thank you for letting me know!!!

  • so many chains !

  • can you even make it more esay

  • @74aline

More easy than this? Hmm, I think it's as much easy as it can be!

    ^_^

  • I do not like the quality of the vidęo :/

  • @kniugzdas

I know what you mean: when I began making these tutorials, I used to film and render these video with a not so high resolution... :-\

I cordially invite you to watch my latest tutorials: now the resolution is higher and the overall quality has improved *a lot*!

    :-D

  • @danbergam

    I will.

  • Nice one ♥

  • @EmCSpiteri1

    Thank you so much, Em!

    ^_^

  • Heyy (: this is wonderfull. but what size is the paper?? im tring to do the "heart witha pocket'' but i need the size so if i get it, it will be a great help thanxxs xD

  • Hey there! ^_^

I usually tend to begin with a 14 cm x 14 cm square, but sometimes I start from a 17 cm x 17 cm (it fits in an A4 paper sheet)... there isn't really a rule: what matters is that it satisfies your needs/tastes!

    You're welcome!

    :-D

  • very good)) very clear and precise ))))

    thank's ))))

  • @sweetykissofthesun

I apologize for being so late with my reply...

I want to thank you so much for your kind, precise comment: really, you notice and point out all the aspects on which I concentrate the most, when making my origami tutorials!

    Thank you again!

    ^_^

  • Hi danbergam :)

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent with us .

I have been able to do the flapping bird/crane water lilly and 4/8 pointed stars yesterday with your precise, no rush , clear instructions : )

People who make time for others like yourself and Dustin of supergiantbubbles make the world a better place .

I now have 2 new hobbies since joining youtube

    Bless You

    Tracy Ann : )

  • Hi, Tracy Ann!

It's me, that I need & want to thank you for such a great, detailed and kind comment: not only you've noticed all the aspects on which I do my best to concentrate when making these tutorials, but you've also been able to make smile!

I think I can tell that you are, waaaaaay more than me, one of those rare, precious persons that make of this world a better, even more beautiful place!

    ^_^

Hehe, it's so great to have many hobbies!

May the Lord bless you in return

    Daniele

  • I usually draw two squares on an A4 sheet with my text-editor, I print it, I cut it... et voilà!

Of course, origami paper is the best choice... but I think I've found a valid substitute; it depends, by the way, on the type of paper the sheet is made of.

  • you are good ;) good joob ;) and thanks ;) 5/5+fav

  • thanks very so much.

i know a little of origami but i often forget to do the figures

i know how to make a heart, a boat, a plane, a cube and others

    this channel is beautiful

  • Many thanks to you in return, for your kind words!

I always forget how to make the various figures, so that I need to look back at the instructions... like ancient romans used to say, "To repeat helps" to memorize!

    ^_^

But, see, you already know how to make a lot of figures... more than be, for sure!

    Shame on me! xD

About my humble channel... well, your words just honour me!

    ^_^

  • Thanks for sharing and your tutorials. My wife really love it. But, she asks me to do it. Sigh... am just too lazy.

  • Well, it's like if your wife was the princess... and you her devoted knight: in this perspective, I think it's perfectly understandable that she's hoping to see you complete quests for her!

Maybe you can consider it in this way: after all, she only asks you to fold a piece of paper for to make a flower as a present for her... I mean, no dragons to defeat, no armies nor powerful wizards to face! ;-)

And, believe me: with the origami model in your own hands, you'll be so proud of yourself! ;-)

  • hi there i wonder what kind of paper you use (origami paper or the normal kind) btw nice vid relly useful xoxo kleo

  • Hey there!

Sometimes I use the regular copy paper, sometimes a slightly thinner one... but I'd say that a general rule may be - as long as you can fold it, any kind of paper is ok! -

    ^_^

  • Very nice thank,s for showing us how to do thing,s.

  • Thanks to you for your kind words!

  • i dont understand in #2 u had the corners diffrent

  • At the end of steps #1 and #2 one has two folds along the diagonals of the squares.

When I made this video I did all the folds off the camera then I unfolded everything, for to have the creases ready in advance.

    No mystery.

  • I really do like pickles. oh and doing Oragami!!!!!!!!!

  • They say tastes are unquestionable...

    ^_^

  • you're like some kind of fortune cookie you have an anciently wise saying for almost every comment somebody makes...it's pretty freakin sweet! :-D

  • Oh, I wish I was so wise... but I think that road to wisdom really has no end (oh no! I did it again! xD)...

I think that this is one of the nicest things I've ever been told... now, I guess I could even use it as a nickname:

    "Dan, the moustached fortune cookie!"

    ;-)

I thank you really, really much: your words are the first ones I've read today... you've put a big smile on my face!

    *bows in sign of gratitude*

  • Hello there firnd! I've been watching ur videos and they're really good! although I've never ever done a figure and I need to make a 2 meter one in like 3 days so i was wondering if u could maybe help chose and easy one casue i have to paint and stuff i'd realyl appreciate your help! :) thx

  • Hey there!

Thank you very much for your words! ^_^

    A 2 meters one?!?! Wow, that's huge!

Sorryy, I have no experience in folding big origami figures, so I can't say how much the time normally needed gets higher.

Some figures are easier, as you have seen by watching the videos, so they could be a good choice... or, you could chose the classic crane, maybe one of the most known ones.

A little hint: before trying with the big size, practice on some normal pieces of paper, to learn the process!

  • tanks u rok

  • You rock too!

  • Heel erg bedankt zeer goed gedaan.

    谢谢,这个是很有意思!

Just curious if you know what I just said, considering your tags.

  • I have to confess that I used a multi-language dictionary, for to see how to translate "origami" in many languages.

But now I'm curious... what did you just write? :-)

  • In my first tutorials, because I felt unsure of my skills, I used to make a fold off the camera, to unfold it, and then to make it on the camera by using the pre-creases just obtained.

Just follow the various steps, undo them, and you will see the same pre-creases.

  • Great tutorial! I started learning origami few days ago, and I can't belive how much things can be made using paper... Thank you very much!

  • Thank you very much for your appreciation!

I agree, it's just amazing how many different things one can make beginning from a regular square of paper!

  • so you can use printer paper and just cut it in half? could you use connstruction paper and do the same thing?

  • Err... no, if the sheet of paper is A4, to simply cut it in half will not make a square: one needs to draw a square on it and cut it out.

I think construction paper may be ok too; whatever the type of paper, the thinner it is, the better it is.

  • Muy bueno me salio a laperfeccion gracias!!!!

  • Muchas gracias!

  • good tutorial

  • Thank you very much!

  • i've already made one of these... never knew it was called the preliminary base.... (i made a crane)

  • Oh, I'd say each single art/discipline/whatever has its rules, its language, its terms... the great aspect of this is that one may better understand books, instructions... and other origamists, when they say, for example - let's begin the making with a preliminary base -

    Thank you for stopping by!

  • Im using printing paper it becomes a challenge but I could finish this one!

  • Don't worry, I usually use printer paper too and it isn't that bad...

    ^_^

  • Dude, your instructions r great.

    Thx.

  • You're very kind, thank you!

    :-)

  • So far so good. =)

  • Thank you so much!

  • i dont get it really,

  • What don't you get, exactly?

  • well, like wats its supposed 2 be and do, like the crane, i knew wat it was, but i didnt really get this one, its good though, lol

  • Oh, now I get what you were saying.

    Ok.

So you saw my crane: well, both in my crane video and description, for example, you may see "See/Pre-required: Lessons #1,..."

Notice also that this one is called "Preliminary *base*".

Well, each base doesn't necessarily represents anything by itself, but it's just a starting point for to make something else:

sometimes another base, sometimes a figure.

  • I make this base in a diferent way. but until now, I only know how to make a bird like origami :P

and about getting paper, you can use the regular copy paper. just cut it and make it square. but it's true, it is harder. copy paper looks stronger and harder to bend.

anyway, your tutorials are simple and eficient. well done!

  • I've seen too some different steps... but the result is exactly the same!

Oh, I mostly user copy paper as well.

    Thank you for your appreciation!

  • mastered 5/5

  • In facts, with normal paper it's a little bit harder... but it's still possible!

    Thank you!

  • do u have to use orgami paper

  • No: you may use practically whatever type of paper you want... by the way, origami paper is the best for this purpose!

  • i could make it with normal paper

but i guess its a little harder

  • lol. i went on the heart pocket. tryed to do that. but it started off with this . now i have the preliminary base thingy. im going streight to it. thank you SO MUCH!!! :P i showed my mum all your vids. their awesome. ty for being u!!!

  • I do believe that to show the different stages is better, because (let's say) the preliminary base is used in many other models and to know it by itself may always come in hand!

Thanks to you, for your appreciation and for your super-duper-hyper-extra-mega-beautiful words... I feel so honored and grateful...

Thanks to you for being you!

    ^_^

    :-)))

  • WOAH You're videos are the best Origami vids ever =D They are so simply clear on how to do stuff =3

  • ...and your words are so nice and full of enthusiasm, that I'm here smiling!

    Thank you so much!

    :-)

  • thnx for appying so fast thats soo sweet of you :)

  • It's my pleasure!

    ^_^

  • first of alll really thnx soo much a stuipid question?.. is this the basic of the waterlili basic that u said about again sooo usefull

  • First of all, really thanks *to you* for your kindness: it's really rewarding!

And, for to reply to your question... yes, this is the preliminary base needed for to do that waterlily (...and origami for all - 13)!

    :-)

  • thnx this helped sooo much!!! :)

  • You're very welcome!

    ^_^

  • you know i just said i couldnt do it? well i just did it yay!

  • With origami it's just like this: to not give up... and to try again!

    Yay! :-)

  • Sorry Danbergam, but i just can't do this...I dont get the last part

  • Lesson 1 COMPLETE! =]

  • Each path, no matter how long, begins with the first step!

Great! Go on like this! :-)

  • what size is the paper? and btw you make awesome origami

  • The size I usually use is 14cm x 14 cm... but you're free to use whatever square of paper you prefer! ^_^

    Thank you very much! :-)

  • i have found what i need for relaxing,,, thankx

  • You're true, origami may be very relaxing! ^_^

    Thanks to you!

  • this one origami makes sooooo much more stuff out of just this like x-wing frog base stuff like that

  • You're right, a while ago I tried the x-wing... but I've to admit that I'm not really a Star Wars fan... that's why I never made a tutorial about it!

Definitely, from this base one can take out dozens different designs! ^_^

  • thx for the basics

  • You're very welcome! ^_^

  • jeez man respect xD thanx for all thjose video!

  • Thanks to you, for your kind words and for your respect! ^_^

  • way to go man, these videos are great, I find it difficult to learn from a book, video lectures are much easier, thanks so much for getting me started

  • Yes, books may be quite hard to get started with... I'm really glad to have given some help: welcome in the origami world! :-)

And thank you, comments like this one of yours are always a great reward! ^_^

  • these are so many great vidios i remember haveing a book about it in 5th grade but i forgot almost all of them now i just make shurikens and very simple things but now seeing all of these i want to try all of them

  • I guess that for most of the origami passionates it all began with a book! ^_^

Thank you so much and... well, happy origami time! :-D

  • very good video!...and I think everybody should know the fine art of origami folding, it develops the pacience and also, in my point of view, the respect even for the simple aspects of life

  • Thank you so much, I try my best!

Oh, I totally agree with you: origami is really a great exercise for to help develope patience and calmness... and yes, it helps also to appreciate the simple things.

Well, at least, this is the effect it was meant to have (I suppose)... some origami makers seem to be taken by these modern, too fast times... :-\

    Anyway.

Thank you so much for your kindness and depth!

    ^_^

  • you are welcome. And I´ll try to improve my folding abilities despite of my lack of accuracy with this kind of work

  • You know what? It's the same problem I have: I tend to rush, because I can't wait to see it finished... but in this way I end being not so precise...

Really, from origami one may learn many things!

    ^_^

  • love ALL your vids!

  • This is the second comment that I read from you... I guess that I'm going to love all of your comments! :-D

  • hi.could you please make more videos of origami i mean fold somewhat like..dragons,or any animals.. PLEASE.. ilove watching your video.. and ahhhmm.. could you make more roses because i like folding roses and animals.. thanks and goodluck..

  • I'm in the middle of the making of my first little fictional movie... but then, I'll be back with more origami tutorials: I hope you all will have a little bit of patience! ^_^

About animals, well, I could try more of them... if they are simple (I like simple origami designs! ^_^)...

About roses, at least one is already scheduled! :-)

Thank you for stopping by, for watching and for your kind comment!

  • thank you for all of your videos! I love all of them. You have un spetacular didatic from how to do origamis classes on line. Thank you again!

  • Thanks to you, for your super-kind words!

    :-D

I do my best... and I'll go on like this!

Thank you for stopping by!!! ^_^
