Huge fan of the show AND comic. Liked season 1's theme, but it was very cliche, something you would expect to hear in a spy type show. Sounded great, not very original. Love season 2's theme, up until about 22 seconds, then it gets all messy. If they removed that scrambled portion towards the end they would have a much edgier, more original theme. Season 3 perhaps? As for S2's episodes so far I think they are fine, I like that they are financed now. Makes them like a mini James Bond outfit.
That was absolutely terrible. He even tried to keep some of the Christopher Chance theme from the original, but fowled that up, too! It sounds like it ends 30 seconds before the music track actually stops, and most importantly, the character is completely gone. Instead of a really awesome leitmotif, we have nothing at all...no musical depth. Something that has been plaguing the TV industry for years and years. Oh, well. Bear will continue to raise the bar, even if it's not on this show.

...I own the 3 CD season 1 soundtrack. I knew McCreary wasn't coming back for this season, so I stocked up on pure amazingness to prepare for whatever this season would bring musically, no matter how bad. The use of licensed tracks is disgraceful, the removal of the opening theme is absolutely unforgivable (there's not even a real hint of Chance's theme anymore, save for the trumpet tease) and the tone just doesn't feel right. Not to mention that the cliffhanger just resolved instantly.
This is, without a doubt, the worst piece of music I've ever heard. As a classically trained musician, I can tell you that it doesn't just sound bad- it's a compositional disaster. What could have possibly possessed you, Tim Jones, to shit out something like this?

What the fuck is wrong with the production team, letting go of McCreary for a talentless hack like Tim Jones. This theme is fucking retarded, it sounds like it attempts to have some sort of rhythm at the beginning but then it's like the musicians all tripped over with the instruments nearer to the end while they were recording giving us this cluster fuck of bullshit.
They need to get back the original writer while they're at it. If episode 1 of the new season is any indication it's unlikely it'll survive for a third round. And they were lucky enough to get a second from what I understand. The music is off putting and often times cheesy and the writing is definitely a downgrade from season 1.
While I'm glad they chose to continue using the opening credit sequence done by Imaginary Forces, I am disappointed that they chose to go with Tim Jones instead of Bear McCreary. I think McCreary's scores have really helped elevate every production he's been involved with. I was thrilled to hear that McCreary was working on "The Walking Dead" and "The Cape." In time, I think he will be regarded as one our generation's best film/tv composers.

So much hate, I honestly did not like the original theme song at all. I think this is much better, and the episodes have been much better so far.

That was absolutely terrible. He even tried to keep some of the Christopher Chance theme from the original, but fowled that up, too! It sounds like it ends 30 seconds before the music track actually stops, and most importantly, the character is completely gone. Instead of a really awesome leitmotif, we have nothing at all...no musical depth. Something that has been plaguing the TV industry for years and years. Oh, well. Bear will continue to raise the bar, even if it's not on this show.

Yea who the fuck ruined this show. one of my favorite shows last season awesome music great storylines everything was top of the line. now its super fake and shitty no more cool scenes just generic bullshit. this theme sucks ass oh and the music is horrible. whoever they replaced directing this or writing theyre fucking idiots. this show is so lame and cliched now what the fuck. the characters and dialogue suck ass

...I own the 3 CD season 1 soundtrack. I knew McCreary wasn't coming back for this season, so I stocked up on pure amazingness to prepare for whatever this season would bring musically, no matter how bad. The use of licensed tracks is disgraceful, the removal of the opening theme is absolutely unforgivable (there's not even a real hint of Chance's theme anymore, save for the trumpet tease) and the tone just doesn't feel right. Not to mention that the cliffhanger just resolved instantly.

This theme is fucking retarded, it sounds like it attempts to have some sort of rhythm at the beginning but then it's like the musicians all tripped over with the instruments nearer to the end while they were recording giving us this cluster fuck of bullshit.

They need to get back the original writer while they're at it. If episode 1 of the new season is any indication it's unlikely it'll survive for a third round. And they were lucky enough to get a second from what I understand. The music is off putting and often times cheesy and the writing is definitely a downgrade from season 1.

While I'm glad they chose to continue using the opening credit sequence done by Imaginary Forces, I am disappointed that they chose to go with Tim Jones instead of Bear McCreary. I think McCreary's scores have really helped elevate every production he's been involved with. I was thrilled to hear that McCreary was working on "The Walking Dead" and "The Cape." In time, I think he will be regarded as one our generation's best film/tv composers.

As for the main theme. There is this brief moment at the beginning where you here some trumpets and you just expect the Chance theme. But of course you're disappointed. What a fuckup...

@elananh They just didn't have the budget to retain McCreary, the original composer (although adding new cast members doesn't seem like a responsible way to keep costs down). And yes, the new song is a mess.
