There were plenty jukeboxes whose speed of their turntables was not standard. I realized that by listening to "Try it out" by Gino Soccio. By hearing it on the radio and on my hi-fi turntable, it sounded slightly slower.
@Lrdvltr Hmm. I remember this tune good from when it first came out, and I've never heard it this fast before. Maybe whoever reissued didn't know any better, or didn't care. Anyways its not the same.
Looks like the kind of Juke box they had in Ken's Pub in Central Square Cambridge, circa '82 and this was just like the jams we'd listen to, 4 plays to a buck.. pretty sweet 'cept sometimes you might have to leave before your song came on, lotta plays!
I think i want to go back to 1979.....what cool music!

I think it is sped up to avoid being muted or removed because of copyright wackos.

Did you guys see when the record ejected, that the FLIP SIDE of Good Times was a different record/label?
DJJOHNNYM 2 years ago
In fact!!! It occurred in records for jukeboxes (promotional copies not for sale)...
Looks like a Mercury label...

Is it just me, or are all the uploads of Good Times a bit fast on here?

It's not you, all the ones I've seen are a half step too high.

The CD recording I have is the same speed. The record versions played at a slower tempo. I'm not sure either.
