Thank you... that was very educational. Really! But I want to use thicker plastic for strength. Like the plastic from a 5 gal bucket. Let's say the kind full of... drywall mud. Those white plastic buckets. Do you think that plastic will also work?
This is without doubt the best vacuum forming video I have seen and a brilliant video overall. Don't take this the wrong way please, but it does make me wonder if you guys have been vacuum pulling on that special type of smoking material also, lol.
May I ask wat vacuum pressure you are able to pull with that pump in your reservoir bottle, and how many liters it ?, in the vid you can clearly ear a very good /fast/strong pull , that allow you a fast forming not letting the plastic cool before it can reach sharp corners , bet you can vacform very detailed stuff .
My best compliments for the nice handcrafting and for the brilliant video.
that is cool as, i should make 1 and so my structural helmet lol, mainly, i want one big enough to put a whole front quaterpanel in, much easier than making a mould outta glass :D Go Vic, n Go AUSSIE
would it be possible for u guys to make yet another video and show how the what it looks like ...behind the plexiglass? show the insert with perforations, what it's made of? The video you made is one of the best .can you make part two? do you have a place where i can call to get more info or an e mail?? thanx
Thanks for the comments. Chris and myself made the video whilst Tony and Brenton made the machine. I'm not sure I can give you accurate enough answers so I've left a message with Tony to see if he can address some of your questions.
this is by far the Best video i ever saw You guys are natural funny clowns and actors Thank you for the laugh and explaining how to build a former.....I, for 1 will copy your machine...a little more info would have been nice like the pneumatic cylinder that raises the table etc Thanks again love you guys
I take it you are Aussies like myself. Where can I get a vacuum pump from. (Cheap) What should I expect to pay for the pump? I was wondering about gas as a heating source? Any Ideas?
hillarious, about the first thing I did with my DIY vac former was a round of cheese on toast too! :-)

Great vid. It's good to see a more light hearted approach to a fairly mundane procedure. I laughed along with Tony and Brenton. Alwilrule.
