yeah i know what you mean, but...it's out of respect, because that's what ND stands for...showing character and pride in football, something lacking in many overrated and arrogant teams, (like OSU for example)...Navy was the inspiration for Charlie's new tradition of having the players stand by the student section for the alma mater.
Someone has to play Navy.
