  • Looks like the set from "The Alan Hamel Show"...

  • what a lovely memory from a bygone era. a time when life seemed simple and carefree. now this world is obsessed with materialism ,. give me time machine please , i want to go back now. lovely lady lovely song

  • Er wrong, Lady gaga is totally talentless and what she does do is usually copied from madonna. The sooner the likes of gaga are of the scene the better the music industry will be.

  • Lady Gaga is imortal

  • Does anybody think of the original French Canadian version of this sone? Mon Pays (or something like that), all about the yearning of Quebec to be a nation.

  • @Christina5Archer ahhhh most definitely ! i was on shock when I heard that song the first time !! i was like . wtf !!? that's a french Gilles Vigneault's song ! oh well, guess not...lol

  • @Christina5Archer Yeah, that's right. "Mon Pays" from Gilles Vigneault. Search it on Youtube.

  • patsy gallant is beautiful mmmmm

  • i was only 5 my mom could dance this song

  • I absolutely love this song, always have.

  • We tend to notice more Canadian singers because they got airplay under "mandatory Canadian content" rules promulgated by the CRTC, and the songs got picked up south of the border. American singers didn't have this same support.

  • And now we have the embarrassment of Celine Dion.

Oh - to be able to go back in time to this fine girl Patsy..

  • Ah, remember this! Poor, sweet Patsy--Montreal's finest never-was, working so hard at being a has-been. Dropping glam American place names as if she'd even been there.... Lovely, lovely Patsy....

  • pasty gallant look cute

  • Makes Celine Dion look like shit.

  • Most famous New Brunswicker after Roch Voisine

  • Pam Ann does it better....

  • I once liked this song, I listen to it today and I think it's so awful...LOL

  • La version que Gilles Vigneault avait écrite et a interprétée est tout simplement incroyable, mais celle de Patsy Gallant n'est pas mal non plus. J'adore toutes les deux.

  • She looks like an horse that has got heartburn and wind. Good song, though

  • LADY GAGA

  • But, was it really meant for me.... x

  • merci a patsy et gene willams who wrote the english version

  • Maybe a duet with Edith Prickley...lol.

  • This looks like a SCTV sketch....I can picture Catherine O'Hara bounding around the stage like a drunken gazelle.

  • what a dance... :D

  • Canadians cannot put an outift together to save their soul.

  • @lakevubud You have to remember that this is 1977

  • @ilovelibertyTYC , Canadian 'talent' is just strange. The only Canadian talent I have ever liked are the sctv actors.

  • Comment removed

  • @lakevubud Yes, SOOO strange...Celine Dion, Michael J. Fox, Justin Beiber, The Guess Who, BTO, Alanis Morrisette, April Wine, France Jolie, Paul Anka, kd lang, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, and many more. Are you sure you are really up on Canadian talent or do you really not like any of these?

  • @JanBee1122 , I love KD lang and esp Alanis, who rocks but all on this list have an odd/ weird fashion sense.

  • @lakevubud Really? Ok, then how about Jim Carey, Mike Myers, Sarah McLaughlan, Jann Arden, Leslie Neilson, Neil Young, Rush, ...are any of these worthy of your fashion passion?

  • @JanBee1122 , Jim Carey = Can't dress, Mike Meyers=slob, Sarah McLauughlin =lays w/dogs, Jannn Ardern = ????, Leslie Nielsen = brilliany & underrated, Neil Young = timeless genius, master of his craft, Rush = nah

And there is something neutered about Canadian Actors.

  • @JanBee1122 , Jim Carey = Can't dress, Mike Meyers=slob, Sarah McLauughlin =lays w/dogs, Jannn Ardern = ????, Leslie Nielsen = brilliany & underrated, Neil Young = timeless genius, master of his craft, Rush = nah

And there is something neutered about Canadian Actors. Cannucks are like the Ammish of the Enetertainment Industry. That said, I love Andrea Martin & Catherine O'Hara but can't stand Kim Catrall or that guy from Will & Grace.

  • @lakevubud Gee, you have an opinion on each one as though it is something uniquely Canadian about them. I can think of hundreds of American stars who easily fall into these same descriptions. Canada is a very small country when it comes to population, esp. in comparison to 300+ in America. I would say that's a pretty good ratio of talented people to our population and therefore, pound for pound, Canadian talent is equal, if not superior, to some of the sludge coming out of the US.

  • @lakevubud and that many americans can't sing to save their lives....

  • What a fantastic performer!

  • Patsy Gallant is part of our musical past as pitoune (slut) who wriggles like a pretty fair trout and singing. Her style is borrowed from another culture than the then Quebec. Wearing one must know that this song''From New York To LA''was plagiarized on the very famous and very symbolic (in Quebec)''song''My country of Intepreter-songwriter Gilles Vigneault.

  • @reseauxpleinair makes about as much sense as a tiawanese instruction booklet

  • I just found out that miss gallant is actually a distant cousin of ours..... :D

  • She is very sexy.

  • Flash from the past.....thanks

  • from new-Brunswick Canada .good stuff yes!!!we love you Patsy !!!

  • Haha! I didn't know she was Canadian, thanks! But it's not St Johns to Victoria because she's talking about getting away to a life of stardom and away from her boyfriend, if she was British, I wouldn't expect her to sing, from Birmingham to Kent because those places aren't particularly famous for their glittering nightlife and stars! Such a great tune, don't think she can be compared to Lady Gaga as she's not a nutcase but they're both very talented and this is a great song! X

  • shes not pretty

  • @discovery781 she's not that bad..and dont tell me you wouldnt wanna fuck that body?

  • Gross...why not from St John's to Victoria? after all she is supposed to be canadian from New Brunswick....why of all this U.S. shit propaganda...we do not live there....

  • @manotoshi

    Chill down brother.

  • @manotoshi Because nobody gives a shit about New Brunswick except Hubert Gallant. Besides, NY and LA fit nicely into the lyrics, and she is singing a song, not giving a history or goegraphy lesson, you tit.

  • This is refreshingly good, takes me back to the summer of 77. Music is such a powerful anchor!!!

  • Excelant. Fantastic voice. Been looking for this song for 30 years. Thanks to who ever posted it.

Can't believe people can insult her by comparing her to Lady GaGa, Patsy sings better, looks prettier and has a better name.

  • i remember seeing this on Retro Boogie Dance Party

  • i remember this video on retro music dance party

  • Patsy Gallant came to Canada's capital (Ottawa) about 30 years ago, and I was 14 when I ran into her downtown. I was a kid, and she wouldn't stop to say hello or anything. I kept running behind her trying to say hi (I was a kid) and finally caught up and said "are you Patsy Gallant"? She said "YES" and walked away -- it was crushing at the time. Wasn't very nice. She could have been kinder and certainly more grateful for her fame; I never forgot how she snubbed a young girl.

  • @beautwman bad memory and when your young those stay with you i'm sure every performer/ fan have had these regrettable encounters, i like her music very much unfortunately i never met her i hope this encounter did not color your view of her music she had good songs she may of been busy hurrying to lunch or maybe just did not think it happens regrettable as it is.

  • fuckin hell i look like her in real life?!!!

  • Heh heh......I hope you don't wear your hair or clothes like her !!!!!!

  • why complain?

  • lukey you

  • Ah, Patsy , you take me back, so much so that my lungs cave in!

  • She is 28 in this video, I believe.

  • I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I really like this song.

  • LADY GAGA OF THE 70S

  • Ha, I was just about to say the same thing

  • ha haha ,yea she probably will look like her by the time she turns 30, =)

  • Nice to see this clip is the unedited version of the song from the album rather than the chopped 7" cut. Thanks for posting.

  • @sct353 ..but it`s cut short at the end so it`s not the full version is it !

  • Pam we love you

  • discorules.... why is that impossible??

  • Far better looking and talented than Celine Dion.

  • She doesn't look like I imagined her.

  • Miss Patsy Gallant

Is My Real And True And Lovely Mum

And I Was With Her When She Did Sing This Song From New York To LA. It Is True

  • Wow, I've been trying to find this song elsewhere for years because I remember how much I loved it! I didn't even realize Patsy was Canadian, it's been so many years. She is beautiful and can she ever hit the high notes!Wow! Thanks for the video!

  • impossible her son was born in the 80s and this song is in 1976,,,,,, ???

  • "It's Pam Ann! PAM AAANNN!" - Valerie, American Airlines Flight Attendant

"I didn't know cabin crew lived to be a hundred and five." - Pam Ann

  • Debe follar como una Diosa :P

  • A W E S O M E ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • we love it!!! freddie and mom xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • she looks like lady gaga

  • She does.

  • HA! Hilarious!

  • Love this song she actually took the music of Gilles Vigneault's song "Mon pays". I love both M. Vigneault's song and Patsy's

  • Give her credit: she took a crappy nationalistic piece of crap and made something good out of it.

  • Yeah, just like Jimi Hendrix did.

BTW, "a crappy.... piece of crap?" looking forward to your next novel already.

  • @lecanadiennoir yeah, my dad noticed that as well!!!! now i'm always singing, "Mon pays ce n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver" instead of "i'm a star in new york i'm a star in la!!!"

  • they slaughtered this song on our local radio station to promote hull trains(from hull to kings cross).it didn't quite work!

  • Best song of the 70s

  • Comment removed

  • When I was a growing up in Canada, I heard this song and "Are You Ready for Love?" on the radio. She looks even lovelier on the other videos. There's something about the camera angle, makeup or maybe another thing here that doesn't do her justice.

  • I saw her perform in a small club in Old Montreal. She had lots of great energy!

  • Comment removed

  • I never get tired of how sexy she is!

  • Patsy Gallant's a very good singer, but boy is she HOT! Down boy!!!.

  • she's amazing

  • Hot little thing! :)
