Do you know who owns this machine? Do you know of any for sale? What is the proper name of this type of braid? It is very interesting to me, I have worked with many braiders, but never one like this. I wonder what the finished braid looks like. Thanks-Joe
There is a factory in Chowchilla Calif that has several large versions of this machine that make wire. They can set it up to make a simple twist or change the braiding sequence to make extra flexible welding cable.
Hi, yes, it is too short, but what you see is salvaged footage. I didn't think anyone really wanted to watch a few minutes of my feet ;-)
The only available information was posted on a sign with the display. The machine is approximately from 1920, and was used for braiding rope for lobster pots in Maine.
