Oh my gosh, that was terrible!! I hope that guy was o.k. I would've felt horible crashing into that car, but what can you do going that fast? Very unfortunate! My heart goes out to the guy!

Bruce Allen was ok, doesn't remember the crash, counted his blessings and hasn't raced since.

@seceretagent008 yea tire walls and safer barriers are pretty good at absorbing energy, i think sand would work better than grass though, when i say i learned it the hard way i ment it, my brother decided to hydroplane our pickup into the ditch (wet grass soft muddy dirt) and slammed into an embankment at 50+mph, grass doesnt slow you down much

Bruce Allen and Kenny Koretsky two of the really good guys of the sport....Bruce never raced again after this accident....Can't say that I blame him....

The driver was Bruce Allen and he was not killed, he actually retired from racing in 2005 due to lack of adequate sponsorship...

No, Bruce has since retired and Kenny broke his legs but has returned to racing.

Neither driver broke anything in the crash. Amazingly neither suffered anything worse than bruising and abrasions.

Equally amazingly, Bruce Allen was out of hospital the next day. Kenny Koretsky got out of his car unaided after the crash.

I was sitting in the left lane stands and watched this. It was either in Baytown or Ennis. I thought surely it killed at least one of them. I think it broke Kenny's foot. that's it. the safety engineered into these cars is unbelievable.

actually Bruce Allen the guy in the car that got tboned was basically un-hurt.. and yes im dead serious.. Kenny Koretsky (sp) the guy in the nitro fish car was more hurt then he was. His son use to raec jr. dragsters.. i also raced jr. dragsters so i was talking to his son kenny about the crash
