MT. Washington, Tuckerman Ravine, NH - May 2, 2009

All the videos of skiing at mt washington are made in the spring... is it impossibly to ski in the winter? I was hiking there last winter and there was about 5 ft of snow, makes sense to ski it with more snow cover.

Yes.. There is snow pretty much all the time up there. There are constant Hail storms in the summer too.

@garrett6699 false, in the summer there is never snow up top, snow accumulation starts about October. Plus Im up there at least 5 times a year, never encountered hail

I got this text from a MT. Washington website - (start here) There is snow on the ground well into August most years and skiing is not uncommon into July. On the Mountain snow can be encountered in any month of the year. Unwary summer hikers have set off to hike to the top dressed in shorts and shirt sleeves and ended up in snow storm before they could realize what was happening. Though most years you really only have snow from October to the end of June.
