Great to see an NHRA driver over at The Pod again. After Darrell Gwynn's serious accident nearly 20 years ago it put a lot of American racers off coming over to the track.

So thanks for coming over to you and your team Melanie it's very much appreciated by the fans in England as are the efforts that are made by all The European Teams particularly the large contingent from Scandanavia who have make the trek over to The Pod for many years.

Thanks for the comments! I filmed this standing on Pitsite VIP balcony at Santa Pod. Looking forward to Melanie running again at the European Finals in September - who knows what will happen now she's had a couple of runs on our track....!

It was actually the quickest and fastest Pro Mod run in European Drag Racing History - and remember we still run over the Quarter Mile...!

@PBMdragracing since then the records dropped to michael gulqvist's 5.91 at 245mph at alastaro, also the european 250 mph barrier was broken at the Tierp Arena this year, i think it was urban johanson but i cant be sure. . . either way europe now has many pro mods capable of high 5s, eriksson, flamholc, gulqvist, johanson, robinson, linberg, meiheizen. . . bring on 2012, maybe graham elis and the lindahl brthers can get the turbo cars to actually hook and we might see some even better times!

@PBMdragracing thats a moderate pass on a car like that, brad personett ran 5.80's and her new car goes quicker. one thing americans still have over Europeans, straight line racing. You lot and your fancy formula one

@Narutofan1000k Hehehehehehe.... I never said it was a good run... just an exhibition pass!! When that run was filmed well over a year ago now, it was sooooooo cold!!!! We know you guys do it better, although we're not too far behind in some classes. We may not have the great weather you do, or as much money, and we don't have any 'pro' drivers... but hey, at least we're doing it!!!! ;@) x

@PBMdragracing colder is better, less water in the air, yes England does have longer tracks. But it would be nice if euro drag cars could race american drag cars, it wouldn't be a headliner for news papers but it would be a comparison, also it would make both sides work harder for faster speeds and quicker times. Yes we do spend more on our drag cars but that's the name of the game, most money wins with those type of cars. Yes i do know i went on a tangent.

she definately redeemed herself with this run......if she'd qualified and ran like this she would've be in number 1 spot....
