Firefli light strings each come with their own controller and power supply. As you say, there are 16 lights, each with Red, Green, and Blue elements, so they use 3 x 16 = 48 channels, but the 48 channels are in the controller that comes with the firefli light string. search for "d-light firefli" on google and you will find their web site
how many channels do these suck up on your system? with 16 lights per, and three colors each it would easily take up 600 dollars worth of controllers just by themselves. just curious.
I was thinking a wrap with a translucent paper, or plastic would diffuse the bulbs, and give them a smoother look.
It was done with the SuperStar Sequencer which is now a part of the LOR S3 release. You can look at the demo version for free if you get the latest download

Very nice. How do you control them? I currently use LOR, but am wanting to move more into RGB/CCR and now maybe even this!
