I learnt that pubic hair has a reason. It's actually more "clean" to have pubic hair than having no pubic hair. I learnt this because when training in Beauty Therapy and learning about waxing/pubic hair our tutor was discussing the reasons we have hair down there in the first place.

So it's really not more hygienic to remove all pubic hair. I think it's just a matter of what people THINK is more hygienic and attractive.

Of course, it can be socially awkward, especially when wearing a bikini or having sex with a partner acturally Most doctors would suggest NOT shaving the entire thing off

Another alternative instead of pads and tampons is a Diva Cup. Its made of silicone and it sits in your 'vajayjay' like a tampon, only you can leave it in for 12 hrs and just empty the cups contents at home. (who stays away from the home for longer than 12 hrs) either way you can do this anywhere with a bathroom, just wash your hands well before and after. its really good for camping and such too. just wear a liner with it.

i heard that you shouldn't use a pad for discharge because it keeps the area moist (oh god, such an awful word) and something like the bacteria likes the warm moist environment. apparently the best thing to do is just to wear cotton underwear and change it when you need to. hope i'm not coming off as annoying! love youuuu :}

It's actually better to just clean with water, according to many gynecologists, as even feminine washes/soaps can disturb the natural pH. Vagina's have a natural smell, not necessary bad, and they aren't really supposed to smell like what those washes do, which are created by chemicals. Regular, unscented soap, is the next best thing.
