  • too bad alcohol is polar and white gas is non-polar :C

  • @spotlightman1234 Usually I use 96 % ethanol. From my point of view it is very good fuel. Doesn't matter how good is alcohol it differs from white gas.

  • I would try finger drills. Come in some pretty small sizes, as small as .0135"

  • White gas and alcohol will not mix! one is derived from wood the other is a petroleum product. i have tried and they simply do not mix

With clear alcohol and clear white gas it is probably hard to see this

Anyway interesting burner you've got there

  • When cold White gas and alcohol doesn't mix that's true. Liquid is fogy, but when heated up (which is unavoidable when burning), than it clears up and seems that is mixed . But anyway adding white gas to alcohol influences burning and burns quite good. You can see it in one of my videos.

  • How is the best ratio between alcohol and white gas? ( Alcohol 96% : White Gas)

  • Sorry, I couldn't understand what you mean.

White gas is more powerful, but alcohol in my opinion is safer.

  • If you meant mixture then I used different ratios - alcohol 2-4 parts and white gas 1 part. But it depends from fuel quality and jet size.

  • Vangelis is cool. Used to listen to him a lot. Hey, can you burn kerosene in a stove like this?

  • I think that for kerosene pump is needed to get initial pressure in fuel tank.

  • in experimenting with this idea I found if I drill with a 1/16 inch drill bit where it does not go all the way through the pipe and then punch through using a needle I ended up with a more stable flame. I also used a travel tin instead of a glass jar. Thanks for the ideas.

  • Thanks for idea about making jet hole.

  • Please send me an email and I have a tool you should see for dilling small holes.

Its a hand drill about the size of a pen with different drill bits

  • never heard of it.and the only epoxy glue i got isnt fireproof.maybe ordenary pottery clay works if it stays inside the jet hole.

  • maybe you could put some clay inside the jet hole, and making a smaller hole in the clay? just an idea.

  • I tried to find J-B Weld, which as I herd is very good cold welding stuff, but so far didn't succeed. Instead I used one another epoxy clue, but it worked very short time.

  • you can purchase a 1/32 inch drill bit at a hobbie store, in the past I have used a needle in a drill to put holes in a soda can for other alcohol stoves it may or may not work, but then again if we never try we never know! good luck!

  • Thanks for advice.

  • nice work. also see:

    BTW, what's the band/album?

  • Band's name is Vangelis and this song is called- Ask the Mountains.
