im a little late on the comments but i recommend not using the OC button. it OVER volts your CPU making it hotter and possibly killing your CPU. Of course when you're overclocking you need an after market fan! bios overclocking is the way to go. i have had this board for almost a year now and im running my i5 @3.8GHz at 27c idle and 45c on full load. prime tested for 24 hours. its a great board. ALWAYS do bios overclocking.
1.4 volts for only 3.3 Ghz, I can overclock manually to 3.3 without raising any voltages on this board. Do not use the OC GENIE! It is really unstable, just manually overclock trust me on this one guys.
Hey PcWizKid i need your opinion on this: I wanna run 5770 in crossfire with an i5 760.. i would overclock if it'S safe in terms of durable.. (so i think 4x 3,0ghz is okay for that) the cpu has to last at least 2 years, so which board would you rather recommand, the asus p55 pro or this MSI board for that setup?
I wish I would have seen your video while I was doing my research on components, the nice part is I seem to have picked the right component :)
As for this video there is something that isn't clear yet. You activate OC Genie, boot, run cpu-z and as it run, while oc genie is enabled, you press the + button?
ive got the P55a-ud3 mother board with core i5 750 and i am thinking of overclocking the cpu from 2.67 to 3.0 if possible what my question is, if i can..
i have a Coolermaster HAF932 and my cpu cooler is Arctic cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2
The motherboard Users Manual tells that , MB is supporting 1.5 V on the Ram. But the new Kingston 2x2GB CL9 1600mhz Kit is working 1.7-1.9V - Thoes Rams will work ???
awesome board... dont know too much about overclocking via bios but the oc geniue and the push button over clock seems like the way to go! stoked to see a core i7 on this beast.. ill keep looking for the video post
i've got this mobo with an overclocked i7 860 and a hd5870 and i'm using a 680 watt psu. so i guess 500-600 watts should pretty much be enough for you.
im thinking of getting this one but i dont want to spend to much on a core I7 right now i have a q9550 which is working great for me! but i am still thinking of getting this board and a I7!
Thanks, tommorow i'm getting my CoreI5 parts. Im going to be using Corsair Dominator, CoreI5 750, MSI P55-GD65 and the Xigmatek Balder. Finnaly replacing my good old Q6600 (Went to 4Ghz on air with that beast).
I'm an AMD user. I've always built and bought AMD computers but the Intel i5's are the shiznit son! Good move from Intel, actually thinking about consumers who don't have deep pockets even though it's still a little more compared to the flagship of AMD. Good job...
3 cards does, in fact, provide a benefit... obviously not as much as adding a second card does, as programs (any of them) are not really made around taking advantage of the power of 3 cards these days. so the program, if you will, used the 3rd (or 4th) card on instinct; its optimized a tiny bit, but not by much. you WILL see a performance boost, say in crysis, but it won't nearly be as close as what you would see if you add a 2nd card.
hard to say this with crysis, what with the new 5870s, and 5970s; just one 5870 will play crysis at around 40-50 fps even with 4x aa to 8x aa, even more so with the dual gpu 5970... but you know what i mean.
regarding the board. i have seen, i think, evga, put out a board with 3 pci-e 2.0 slots that will run at x16 x16 x16. i think it was an x58 board, socket lga1366... i dont think im wrong, but if i am i know they have a 7 pci-e board in the works, and at least 3 will do x16.
OH MY GOD! Youtube should seriously put a filter to these f*cking one word "first" comments. Their on every vid nowadays. This isn't a race dumbasses.
You said that the bigger heatpipe would cool the CPU. I think you mean the VRMs? And not the CPU?
Too expensive. The GD65 and GD55 are probably enough for almost everybody and if you are hardcore, then maybe ASUS ROG-mobos or maybe Evga FTW or Classified.
what frequenz would have a i5 760 ????(mhz-frequenz)
a i5 750 has 3209mhz

It doesn't have tri SLI or Crossfire support, just DUAL!
ChristyTV 2 years ago
Well, the P55 chip only haves 16 lanes of PCIe 2.0, thats why dual, for the 8x/8x, since triple would be 8x/4x/4x and itd be CRAP
sergiotheripper 2 years ago
Which idiot here uses triple SLI / CF anyways? It's useless just like dual , just buy a damn new card =/
