I think Raiden was ok in both games, i guess they made him more into ninja, to appeal to fans who complained on how he wasn't that much of a badass, he's not my favorite. But in MGS2, he was a little more believable, more human and less Sci-Fi.

But that's just what i think :)

The thing is that Raiden seemed like a puss in the 2nd game cause he'd forgotten all about his horrible past. Then the patriots caught up to him and did multiple experiments on him transforming him into a cyborg but Raiden escaped and throughout years of solitude and training with vast tribes and people, Raiden harnessed his true potential as a hunter and Ninja. Its all their but people just don't take the time to understand that this isn't just an overnight bullshit attempt!

I'm gonna be honest, i hated Raiden in MGS 2 for the most part. MGS 4 Raiden?....The guy took on an entire group of soldiers with just a sword in his mouth and no workable arms, that takes not just balls, but a whole freaking body of bravery.
