Holy cow, that little capacitor did that? God, what would happen if my TV had a short in it, it would be like a nuclear bomb going off!

It's a good and fun way to destroy caps that are of no use although the caps we did just popped or fizzed as the voltage was not high enough.

I did this for the first time when I was 17. I used model train transformer to blow them up. that was ten years ago. It's fun!

So you hooked them up backwards and overvolted them? Sweet.... may I ask what the ratings on the capacitor were and what you fed it? I have some crap capacitors that would be fun to mess with...

I was working on a router one time and I took the case off to see if I could smell anything burning while it was plugged in. Big mistake, the damn transister blew off and the plastic cap hit me under the eye and left a welt. Yeah these things are dangerous, lol

Every electrolytic went boom if you overvolt it enough and connect it backwards ;)

Even.. I had more fun with connecting 4,5/9V cells directly to 320VDC (230VAC and bridge diodes 25A/400V) dangerous but very very funny :D

I find the bigger ones just fizzle :( I was so confident of the fact that I taped it to my sack - bad move Jim, ever see an egg break? it was a mess, my doctor says it will take time and rest, my wife left me and my son kicks my as son a daily basis for being such a faggaycunt :(
