@antiskyguy it was allegedly used to decrease forrest foliage in the vietnam war but the american government did know that it was a known carcinogenic. shockingly they still deployed it in areas where their own troops were stationed and many developed cancers later on..its use is now banned but really to answer you ...yes it was really a weapon..a chemical weapon of its age but it will never be acknowledged as the use of chemical weapons were strictly prohibited by the Geneva Convention.

My dad said kids used to play in the test area, and lots of them deveolped cancer. My grandfather, his father, told him specificly not to go there, probably realised that if it killed the trees...
