Is it wrong that i consider this to be one of the most hilarious scenes ever depicted on film in spite of the misogyny, violence towards women, and racism? Oh wait... that's why it's funny!
Are you kidding? The way Gambon plays him is only slightly better than this guy. Remember the scene in Goblet of Fire when he shakes Harry? "Did you put your name in the Goblet?!"
How is there any less narrative or character realism here than anything you've listed as exemplary in your profile? Not that realism was ever Greenaway's point at all.
Disregarding realism is no excuse to throw in random elements that are completely unnecessary. He chose to be vulgar, controversial, loud and arrogant, with no reason other than simply to be just that. The story didn't make sense, the restaurant would not be that heavily populated under the film's circumstances, Spica's friends would not sit so idly by as he commits one childishly enraged action after another, and none of the characters had more than one side to them.
Greenaway has never cared about characters, and starting with this film he pretty much gave up on story entirely; you're looking for value where none was intended, except for some cheap shock no doubt designed to sell tickets. The point is the imagery, which I find some of the most complex around and very worth it.
There was never any doubt of the imagery's worth. The costume and set designs were really cool and little tricks like changing the colors of their outfits as they enter/exit rooms was pretty neat. It's extremely visually pleasing, but, unfortunately, that's really the only thing it has going for it.
I have to write a film paper on this, and i have to say this scene is definitly gonna be in it. Nice tracking shot, nice music, nice everything! A very artistic, surrealistic, and visual film.
I'm just terrified after seeing this! I can't stand anyone hurting Helen Mirren, even though it is acting. Oh my God, the music, the colours and everything... I just stopped breathing and I rarely get this upset because of a movie clip. Propably should see the whole movie.

..."He is Jewish, and he is from Ethiopia...!!" that is in the clip .. I hear that line, more than anything else... ... "ስም ያለው ሞኝ ነው" አለ ያገሬ ሰው....

Not quite up to the standards or Naruto or FF7 Advent Children, then?

More like, not quite up to the standards of decent writing and developing multi-dimensional characters.

As previously stated, I mentioned no flaws in the film's visual setup.
The story and writing, however, are less than what is desired.
