Mitt Romney VETOED expansion of abortion rights 3 years before running for the nomination.
Ronald Reagan supported and signed into law the biggest ever expansion of abortion rights, ONE year before running for the nomination AS PRO LIFE. Romney's family became pro-choice when a close friend (engaged to Mitt's cousin) died from a backroom abortion. Reagan had no such excuse. .Governor Romney took courageous pro-life stands. Why do we forgive Reagan? Romney's record is infinitely better!
Hey, you have to be sympathetic. Republicans are not allowed to change their minds. They aren't allowed to use experience, research, and logic to learn anything. This means that if a Republican candidate changes his mind, he can't admit it. Giving reasons for the change (what normal people would do) is not allowed. I'm surprised they haven't developed a pledge they can all sign!
Governor Mitt Romney is a RINO. He supports stringent gun laws. His Health care overhaul pales in comparison to the atrocity of Obamacare, but it was similar. He has never expressed public regret for this. He told Michigan residents at an event there that the financial services bailout was absolutely necessary. He stated you said that the Republican Party needs to pass "immigration reform" (amnesty) for new voters. He’d vote for Obama! watch?v=jPGnJmbDq08
This video mischaracterizes Romney's position, very slickly; it would be difficult to detect, for the average, ADD, public-school educated individual, but it is clearly attempting to twist his words, not to mention the Republican Platform, in an effort to make him appear dishonest.
As for 2002, he didn't have his change of heart until 2004.
As for 2005, he kept his campaign promise to not make it illegal, despite opposing abortion by then. Romney came down on the side of life as Governor.
If Romney change his mind from against abortion to legalized abortion, have you ever wonder, even if girls/women got pregnant and want an abortion, but its illegal to do so, will find ways either way to extract the baby. In the end it could endanger mothers life too. Its in the choice of individual to do it anyway, no matter what laws are passed in the senate. Unborn babies are pure, they dont have sin like we do.
Well, ifall, abortion should be illegal in the same way that murder is illegal after someone is born. An unborn baby is just as valuable as the mother.
lol! He paused right after he said "pro" and it looks like he almost forgot whether to say pro-choice or pro-life. This guy is another phony. Please don't fall for it again, people! RP 08!
One thing is sure: All Republicans and conservative independants need to get behind WHOEVER wins the Republican nomination. Otherwise, we will have Clinton or Obama in the White House.
The Republican platform calls for abortion to be illegal in all 50 states?
Nope. It isn't. It should be up to each state, Roe V. Wade was based on abortion being a safe an effective procedure, so that would be an illegal position to take.
Abortions are needed in rare cases, just like lobotomies. The republican position is that abortions should be rare, and not funded by the Federal Government.
You are constantly posting "Hate messages" every site. No wonder people call you "SICKO". These sick people are beyond help. They're abandoned by their spouses, boyfriends & very lonely so they release their anger on a successful family value man and constantly posting fabricated false messages. People want RELIABLE NEWS (Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh) and should not get news from the sick angry people.
It's funny how everybody wants to be like Reagan but criticize Romney for going pro-life. Reagan was a pro-choice governor who ran a pro-life campaign for president. I guess Romney has the on that one. And who cares anyways? He changed for the better so good for him.
"I want NH to make thier own decision on abortion." wow....sounds a lot like Ron Paul. States rights?! my goodness! maybe this thing called the Constitution is worth looking at afterall.
The clips of the 1994 debate are grossly edited. If you are interested in this issue watch the 1994 debate on youtube too whether you like or believe him. Get the whole story.
Let's say a doctor had been performing late term abortions for most of his career and at some point his conscience got to him or some experience with abortion changed his outlook on the whole life/choice issue. And let's say that this event influenced the doctor so greatly that he vowed never to perform another abortion again. Would you call this doctor a flip-flopper for changing his mind for the better of mankind? Of coarse you wouldn't. This flip-flop label is, at best; left wing desperation.
I agree Mitt is sincerely anti-abortion, today, so what. He was pro-choice when he ran in MA because he needed to be. He has two priorities, himself first, the LDS church second. He'll revert back to LDS teachings anytime he can without jeopardizing his quest for power. Even the inner circle of the LDS church is OK with this. The end justifies the means. LDS in the Whitehouse makes all their self-serving cult mouths water.
"I agree Mitt is sincerely anti-abortion, today, so what. He was pro-choice when he ran in MA because he needed to be."
Most Americans want a leader that stands for issues and is consistent. Most Americans do not want a politican that holds his finger to the wind to decide how he will govern.
ANd that is the problem in America today, we need leaders like Ron Paul, when in turn we elect politicans like Mitt Romney.
Mitt is creepy. It seems he will say anything to get in with the big contributors. He is so smarmy, he reminds me of a telemarketer or used car salesman. Scary guy.
"Mitt is creepy. It seems he will say anything to get in with the big contributors. He is so smarmy, he reminds me of a telemarketer or used car salesman. Scary guy." I couldn't have put it better
Desperate are some that know Mitt Romney is the only chance republicans have for the White House. Anyone with at least half a brain would flip on abortion, in a heartbeat, if their daughter got knocked up out of wedlock. At least he flipped to the right. There will always be a circumstance that will necessitate an abortion what ever the law is. That fact will never change. The issue is only used for political rhetoric. Romney is the obvious choice for the presidency. Get over it already.

I think it is significant to note that Romney never flip-flopped. Rather, he just flipped.
Unlike John Kerry--who was against, then for, then against again--Romney was for abortion, and then saw the light and became pro-life.
We all make mistakes, and we all change--nobody has lived their whole life believing all the same things since birth.

Not just abortion. Mitt Romney's flip-flops include tax cuts (actually against them), environmental protection, pardons, and gun control.
He has no principles and is just a political whore more dedicated to his ego than any greater good.
For someone who has a campaign manual claiming he's smart, Mitt Romney has said and done several stupid things.
Even citing Hezbollah as a source of inspiration and something the US should be like.
MKB2814 4 years ago
Yeah the abortion issue is just one flip-flop and flop-flip, but what about the other political gymnastics?
Immigration?
stem cells?
Tax cuts,? gay rights? Minimum wage? and Environmental protections? to name a few.
MKB2814 4 years ago 2
Government Pardons?
State sponsored gaming?
Attack smears? Reagan? judicial activism? gun controls?
If there's an issue, Romney will flip flop on it.
Romney -Political whore since '94
